I am contemplative, relaxed, and nice.

My Self-Summary

I'm a pretty relaxed fellow. I try to take everything in stride. I have a very odd sense of humor. I know a bit about and love wine. I'm also very fond of tea - at my best I had four distinct kinds of Earl Gray.

I have an ever-widening taste in music. I listen to everything from M. Manson and Nirvana to Air and Massive Attack to Brahms and Vivaldi (more on this below, of course).

I love comedy above all things. I adore The Far Side, Voltaire's and Johnathan Swift's brand of satire, the comic-timing of Robot Chicken, the pure manic insanity of Invader ZIM, and all of the obscure, intellectual nuggets hidden within Futurama.

I like women who have something to say. I love good debates, and I cannot stand bad ones. I enjoy going out as apparently most people do, as well as staying in and watching films/fires/tv/etc.

What I’m doing with my life

I'm in Korea now, and I'm thoroughly enjoying it. So far I'm feeling I could stay here for awhile longer and be very happy.

I’m really good at

lightening the mood, film commentary, occasional brooding, making comments and jokes no one catches and/or thinks is funny, Disciples 2, writing essays, metaphysical/philosophical/theological/cosmological discussions, zoning out on silly television shows.

The first things people usually notice about me

Probably that I'm reserved at first.

My favorite books, movies, music, and food

BOOKS: Candide, Memnoch the Devil, Paradise Lost, Areopagitica, The Inferno, The Stranger, Hard Times, The Age of Innocence, the Stand, Alfred Lord Tennyson, Lord Byron, Elizabeth Bishop.

MUSIC: Massive Attack, Morcheeba, DJ Shadow, The Golden Palominos, Tricky, Alpha, Sophie & Ives, Smashing Pumpkins, Air, Soundgarden, Radiohead, David Bowie, Beta Band, RJD2, Nirvana, Johannas Brahms, Vivaldi, White Zombie, The Scissor Sisters, Rage Against the Machine, Sneaker Pimps, the Starseeds, Stone Temple Pilots, Thievery Corporation, Underworld, the White Stripes, James Brown, Everything But the Girl, Zero 7, Ladytron, Collide, the Cardigans, Beck, Aphex Twin, Digable Planets, Enigma, Fiona Apple, Genitorturers, Goldfrapp, Portishead, PJ Harvey, The Golden Palominos, and more....

The six things I could never do without

Friends

Family

Music

Humor

Some other things I suppose.

I spend a lot of time thinking about

what my next goals should be and the best path to them.

On a typical Friday night I am

Discussing why Nathanial Hawthorne is a bad writer to a crowd of literati while enjoying a nice '87 Rothschild at the Burgundy Room. No, not really.

The most private thing I’m willing to admit here

I'm very happy at the moment.

You should message me if

You think Futurama is written better than the Simpsons. You have read something more than Harlequin romances. You know what a "Bitchin' Meat Car" is. You think you may be as big of a nerd as I am. You want a companion to gallivant across Asia Pacific with you.
