My self-summary
Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
I love:

-Reading, learning, writing...and discussion about said topics.
-Outdoors activities, especially involving nature
-Harmony. Negative or toxic people should apply elsewhere.

I dislike:

-Doing nothing. "A day off" for me does not involve just one thing.
-Unhealthy relationships and overdependence
-Not much else
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
I currently handle specialty prescriptions full-time for an insurance company and check them for accuracy. Specialty prescriptions include oncology drugs, growth hormones, plasma drugs, and those sort of contraceptives you put under the skin.
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
I've always been a prolific reader, but I'd say that as a skill reading is pretty common today(thank you, internet). Friends have told me that I retain information pretty well. I vastly enjoy listening to others and giving reasonable advice when I have any to offer.
The first things people usually notice about me
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
When communicating about one of my passions, I become quite animated. Since I have quite a few of them, this seems to usually be the first thing people tell me they've noticed.

I've been told that I behave almost overly nice to people who work in the retail or restaurant business. Perhaps that's because, having been in their position, I know what they have to put up with frequently and am aware that a little kindness can sometimes be an oasis for them.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food

Books! I love an unusual array of books. Classics such as Crime and Punishment, The Once and Future King, Great Expectations, and A Tale of Two Cities are definitely a big part of my list. Philosophy is there as well, starting with The Story of Philosophy by Will Durant up to and including some of the more modern, scientific and philosophical works such as that of Stephen Pinker. Favorite modern fiction authors include Terry Prachett, Neil Gaiman, and Charles De Lint. There's more than a few sociological books I've enjoyed, Extraordinary Popular Delusions and the Madness of Crowds and The Conquest of Bread being among them.

I have a large collection of medical books, including Grey's Anatomy, Principles of Internal Medicine, and a ton of pharmacological/nursing books.

Musically, my taste is wide, running the gamut from Tom Waits style gravelly vocals to Tori Amos. I enjoy classical, especially Liszt, Gershwin and Beethoven. Other bands include: Iron and Wine, Jimi Hendrix, The Eagles, Simon and Garfunkel, DJ Tiesto, Deadmau5, and Flogging Molly. Typical genres include: Electronic, Classical, Celtic and Irish Folk, Blues, Rock, Classic Rock, and probably a whole lot more that doesn't occur to me at the moment.

Dramatic movies with a foundation in character development interest me. Movies like The Artist and The Shawshank Redemption where you can see shifts in the main character's outlook and situation and relate to them despite them being well-divorced from your own pull me in. Martial Arts has been my guilty pleasure ever since watching Ip Man and its sequel.

Food? I try to eat healthy, so cucumbers, chicken, salad, eggplant and such are commonly on my menu. My breakfast is nearly always eggs and bacon and I consistently enjoy cooking for myself and others!
The six things I could never do without
Think outside the box. Sometimes the little things can say a lot.
Barring the usual literal responses, I'd have to go with friends, education, tea, the outdoors, games, and books in no particular order.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Global warming, lunch, or your next vacation… it’s all fair game.
How to reach my goals, how our health system is hopefully going to bring down prices for patients in the future, and whether or not I left my stove on in the morning.
On a typical Friday night I am
Netflix and takeout, or getting your party on — how do you let loose?
Hopefully exercising, eating really good food, and then sitting down and reading a book. If there's other people around there's good conversation, and I'm possibly engaging in terrible dancing or singing if we're in a public place.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
I'm adopted. This hasn't had a negative impact on me, far from it, but it did give me a good sense of perspective early on about how much worse things could be.

I possess an unhealthy and unquenchable hunger for eggplant! There's just too many awesome ways to prepare it. The texture, the flavor profile, the smell: to me, all of these attributes make it just about perfect.
