My self-summary
Long story short, just contact me in gmail by using the nickname above. Or #okcupid.fi @ IrcNET.

I just want to find smart people. Smarter than I am. So I can respect, learn and grow. But this whole logn story is probably bullshit, I won't even read it anymore. Some day I will come back and completely re-think this.

Well, basically I try to progress in life slowly and surely, avoiding debt, conserving something for tomorrow, worried both about peak oil and the police state that Europe is turning into. I respect individual rights and freedoms, but support socialism, still.

I have a fairly unified, rational world-view, which I hope I will not have to go into any detail with anyone, as it rarely does more than upset people. Besides that, I am very passionate and loving.

I'm kind of wondering should I, in the future, look to live in the country or in the city. I used to think I want to be very self-sufficient in the country with a passive house and all, but now, I am kind of leaning towards the city, where I work, and where the people are. There's no point in moving to the countryside alone, now is there? And there's definitely a lot of advantages if you can just walk to your workplace, and you don't need to maintain a courtyard, a car and a house all by yourself. I don't really need all this maintenance in my life. Well, I did buy a car though, just for kicks..
What I’m doing with my life
I am working full-time as a stress analyst, and I am finishing my "Master of Science" degree in the field of mechanical engineering. When that is done, I plan on moving out into a bigger apartment and decorating that to its full extent.

Sometimes I go swimming, or to the gym. Took some archery lessons, tried to dance bachata. But like mainly, the best way to impress upon myself a poetic feeling, is to go and ride hard, anything. If it can be raced, and I don't feel too unsafe to do it, I'll have fun. Among the best such sports is ice sailing. But sometimes driving a car or cycling is also good. The point is not only to go fast, but to go in freedom and express yourself in every turn.

Mostly I just listen to music and discuss on IRC. I also like discussions on the topic of politics and society. Sometimes I write about it. I like writing in general more than reading.
I’m really good at
Well, I can sail on ice with a kitewing - won the world championship in 2010. Though I admit, I was lucky. Anyhow, I can probably outsail you in anything that can be sailed.

I've been commented as a good writer, too. I am really irritating when I really put the stress on a subject, and use my intuition to draw facts from my ass which nobody can cash.

I am somewhat knowledgeable on cameras and computers.

I can play lame bass lines on my acoustic guitar but don't know any chords yet.
The first things people usually notice about me
A lieutenant in the army said:
"If everyone thought like you, we'd never get anything done."

I've been defined fanatic, neurotic, serious, serene and one with no eye for social situations. I've also been called open and interesting. Regardless, there's a definite controversy about something when I am around. I used to be the quiet type, I don't think I can classify myself like that though. But I suppose I am still an introvert.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Movies: Nausicaa of the Valley of the Wind, Army of Darkness, Shooter, Beverly Hills Cop, Office Space, Drift Bible

My favorite book right now is Eat & Pray & Love .

While I rarely play anymore, they used to be very important, so try these games if you want a good story and gameplay:
Baldur's Gate I & II
The Elder Scrolls: Morrowind
Fallout 3

To me, music is about the imagination it can spark in me. I listen to soundtracks from games/anime/movies because they instill emotions from those moments, or actually contain good composition, instead of just 4 chords and a bunch of words. I even like eurobeat. I like good bass lines that progress, and I also like clean melodies.

Socially, music is another thing, and common radio play is good enough. Special mention to Leevi and the Leavings and Eppu Normaali. Or you can play salsa/bachata/kizomba/latin pop, that's always good for the mood. Creedence Clearwater Revival and other older rock is good, as well as 80s music. Some metal bands are excellent, like Sabaton, but some metal bands produce garbled shit with nothing but double pedals, constant hi-hat abuse and some deep gurgling sound - I don't listen to that.

I eat on a budget and cook alone, so my food is limited. I hate dry food without sauce. I also want to eat more unprocessed, clean, healthy foods. I prefer organic food, but my budgetary needs tend to make battle with that desire. Tofu is no stranger to me, but I do eat meat. I prefer chicken over red meat these days. I do all my frying on virgin coconut oil or virgin olive oil, because polyunsaturated fats shouldn't be used for frying. Anyhow, I've upped my spending on food ever since I began working a higher pay.
The six things I could never do without
Maslow's need hierarchy wins every time.

You can't beat a sound theory.

I suppose wealth, security, adventure, leadership and love is what I seek. Tough combo to seek as a man who's supposed to be a leader in his own right. Whatever.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
I think about finances, work, designs, love, my next move, peak oil, and where I should be to find compatible people with me.

Often I feel like there is an intensive laser beam of consciousness inside of me. One that seeks out the best solutions, beautiful concepts, advancement, progress. As such, I hold almost no taboo subjects. I regard Finnish culture as very good but it still needs to be improved upon. I want to a create culture that is superb.

Most of the designs or plans I think about have something to do about making more out of less, or saving money, improving my stance, increasing my options, making me more mobile and capable. I think about passive housing, light weight vehicles like motor-trikes and motorcycles. I also like to dream of a sailboat that sails with a single sail and a free-standing mast. One that has little draught so I can explore the Finnish archipelago one day without a care from the shallows.

But seriously, I'd trade all that for lazy Sunday mornings and good coffee with someone.. Even in Tampere. If I could just make it to that point in my life, and feel that I am in control there. But, I will always live in interdependence with the rest of the society. And if I so deem that the rest of the society is going to go haywire eventually, then it is hard to "settle down and drink coffee without a care." Regardless, that is what I like.

Dunno, following my dreams of engineering nice things is a bit far-fetched. I have no idea how to even start, and seriously, if there is no market for it, why should I bother? It's like a make or buy analysis of your dreams, where making is so much longer path to what I want. Or maybe I should just wait for the social acceptance of such concepts and views. Up until that point I suppose I should put more emphasis on just having a good time or participating in politics.

It would be easiest to just focus on my current employment at full steam and be the best at what I do and live with it. While that is my plan at the moment, I still feel a bit uneasy about something. As if some burning desire is being gutted right there.
On a typical Friday night I am
Hopefully relaxing in a sauna, anywhere. With beer.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
Eventually you'll note I am an open book. Until that time, I will try and stay mysterious.
