My self-summary
Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
I'm currently living in southern CT, working full time as a school psychologist, playing games, exploring the area, doing all sorts of stuff I could do when I was a slave to grad school.

I'm finishing a PhD, so I occasionally still do grad student things.

I'm looking for someone who has some serious life goals, but also knows how to kick back and enjoy life.
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
Recently I just accepted a job offer as a School Psychologist in Northwestern CT.

I work with young people who have psychological needs of one type or another, but I am particularly passionate about working with children with serious emotional needs. It truly is rewarding to find a way to turn people's concerns into their strengths.
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
Cooking, Scrabble, Photography, Trivia, thought experiments, other games, listening (corny I know, but I'm professionally good at it), etc.

I can find enjoyment in just about anything, However if I had to pick a talent that I have, its likely my ability to talk about anything with anyone. I just try to find a way to contribute or take in what I'm being told and ask good questions, but overall it is just fun to stay engaged with others. I've also been told I have a soothing voice, I guess that's a good trait for a psychologist.
The first things people usually notice about me
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
I like casual conversation and am very easy to meet and get to know, an open book if the time, place, and people suit it.

I've also been told I have abnormally long eyelashes for a guy, and I honestly have no response to that other than... thanks?
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food

I've been reading some psychological theory books about perceptions of future events and their positive or negative impact on present emotional states, as well as methods to utilize future thinking to improve outlook and ultimately personal subjective well-being. .

I'll listen to just about anything, other than modern Country Music and trashy pro crime/misogyny/and other crappy behavior music.

As far as food goes I love new things so I'll try least once. I experiment well, but can't promise it will grow on me.

So in sum, I'm willing to give almost anything a shot, but I can't promise I'll like it, just that I'll give it a fair chance usually, however I'm not a big extreme sports person, just isn't my style.
The six things I could never do without
Think outside the box. Sometimes the little things can say a lot.
Barring the obvious such as food, air, and social contact with others...

Games & Puzzles
People to play them with
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Global warming, lunch, or your next vacation… it’s all fair game.
How am going to further develop my career, since I just recently took my new job and can see a lot of options in the future.

Other than that I really enjoy cosmology (the nature of the universe, not make-up/hair etc., just clarifying), and other natural sciences.

Also thinking a lot about how and where to use all the things I've acquired over the years as potential hobbies and then got too busy to really use them to their potential.

Also lately I've been playing a card game again from my childhood semi-competitively with some success and it has rekindled my love of the game so its nice to have an old hobby you love and have all the pieces already ;)
On a typical Friday night I am
Netflix and takeout, or getting your party on — how do you let loose?
Looking for fun and new things to do, but I often times enjoy a relaxed evening at home.

In all honesty a movie night, video games with friends, laser tag, bowling, or just getting coffee and ice cream at the diner works for me most nights. Though I might be easily convinced to gallivant around Boston or other interesting cities or take a drive through the New England country side looking for weird things to experience like hidden diners, weird historical sites, and oddity shops.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
That I'm imperfect, it might not sound like something interesting to reveal, but I find that it is often a hard thing to admit for people.
