My self-summary
Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
Disclaimer; i'm a much better listener than talker. For something like this I'll end up gibbering, so reading is at your peril! Here we go. Pre-emptive addendum: I cut my hair recently, so I look like a foppish fool now. =) Need new pics.

The United States is a new thing for me and i'm still finding my bearings: I grew-up in Scotland and England, but have a Texan father, so my accent is rather muddled and amusing. So is my lexicon, for that matter; if I say "I'm going out for a fag," things aren't as extreme as they seem! Clashing cultures is a constant source of amusement, so that's making my time here a bit easier. I can be a bit shy around strangers, but I open up quickly to new acquaintances because, ultimately, meeting new people is fun. List impulse engage-

I've got a kilt, but that does not mean that it's streetwear!
Folks with English accents are not evil. Simply mischievous.
I love giggling and talking to myself.
I hate smoking but I find that I do it anyway, though i'm cutting down a lot.
Psychadelic colours and tessellated shapes fascinate me.
I love baby animals but find them unsatisfying in maturity and death.
I work-out like a demon but proceed to enjoy tasties that probably outweigh the benefit.
Any book is better than no book. Smell is the most underrated sense.
Ska, pop-punk and mainstream metal music can, for the most part, go crawl under a rock and die.
I love writing and performing poetry, and scrawling doodly graphic design, but I only do it intermittently.
I love stationery.
I seem to have exceptionally good reflexes, so if you fall, I can catch you (har har.)
I can't cook, but sometimes I try really hard. I make a mean chicken pot pie, i'll say that.
I have a tattoo, want more, but can't finalize on anything.
Mother Earth weeps when I drink enough to start dancing, but sometimes you just have to groove.
I'm trying to reconcile British spelling with American english; submitting to the 'z's and dropping the 'u's. I will NEVER say 'aluminum' though.
I might be male, but I love soft things, and have some cuddly toys... and they have names.
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
Building new friendships, looking for career opportunities, working out too much (cycling at high speed, trying to lift heavy bits of iron mounted on various apparel, or impersonating furry rodents on the treadmill,) trying to comprehensively catalogue my ridiculous CD collection.

Also finishing my English degree at Rutgers Camden. It's odd, because I started out studying philosophy and logic in Scotland, and after i'm done at Camden i'm probably going to try to teach biology... Sometimes I just can't understand myself. =/
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
Smiling. Giggling. Writing (when I try, IE not here.) Drawing (when I try.) Working-out until I feel like puking. Procrastinating as well, to be honest.
The first things people usually notice about me
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
Used to be my ridiculously long hair, now though, I have no idea. Maybe the constant smile (that hints at secret knowledge... but really I just like smiling. =)
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food

I'll read absolutely anything that is recommended to me...... but i'm going to submit to my list instinct again. After a long hiatus.
I love sci-fi; Stephen Baxter, Philip K. Dick, Greg Egan, Alastair Reynolds, Stephen Donaldson, even *blush* WH40k fiction.
Other stuff i've enjoyed include Salman Rushdie, Steve Aylett, Margaret Atwood (i'm not a feminist), William Horwood, J.K. Rowling, Terry Pratchett, J.R.R. Tolkien (still haven't read LoTR though!) and many many others over the years. I used to enjoy the classics and a lot of poetry, but hey, doing a degree in the stuff can take a lot of joy out of it.

I don't watch movies much anymore. My free time is predominantly consumed by reading and listening to music. Again, if it's recommended by someone who isn't a retard, i'll watch it. I have an itch to mention mindjunk like Schwarzenegger films though, or the serenely beautiful animated films by Studio Ghibli. I had to sell hundreds of my DVDs before I came to NJ for obvious reasons, so... films aren't a big thing for me at the moment.

Music...basically... metal! \m/(>__<)\m/ I have an obscene physical collection of vile music that I enjoy listening through, and that is completely at odds with my bubbly personality and pacifism. I just love filthy guitar-driven drivel that grunts about murder and insanity. Having said that, I love a lot of different music; most electronic (that isn't dubstep,) classic and post-rock, quirky independent pop, grunge... Most Western musics have amazing artists hiding out of view of the mainstream.

Food is fun. I love hot Indian curries and Tex-mex (preferably home made) but i'll pretty much eat anything if i'm hungry or have the munchies.
The six things I could never do without
Think outside the box. Sometimes the little things can say a lot.
'Good' music. Love. Lust. Yummy things. Cute things. This language and its bastard ills.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Global warming, lunch, or your next vacation… it’s all fair game.
How empty my head is. Whether it's slowly filling or slowly emptying. You know what it's like to have to try and re-evaluate who you are and how you can engage that person with the world again, don't you?
On a typical Friday night I am
Netflix and takeout, or getting your party on — how do you let loose?
Watching some terrible TV with my parents usually, or pounding away at the treadmill or weights. It'd be cool to get out and do some more exciting things, but I haven't figured-out what the endless suburbs of south NJ have to offer yet.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
I don't know where i'm going. Have you seen any signs anywhere!?

You can make my return to the motherland more interesting, you're looking for gig buddies, or have some kind of offer that can't be refused. Actually, amusing conversation is the best place to start!
