I am lively, bashful, and bookish.
My Self-Summary
I've been to college for Photography, Community Health Sciences,
and Design. I would like to go to university for Art History.
That's as far as it goes for my formal education. My informal
education is even more diverse and interesting. I read several
books per week on a variety of subjects.
I am freelance graphic designer with a strong interest in print and
paper. I spend a lot of time volunteering for various community
health organizations and film festivals. I am also an assistant
site administrator for a local queer women's social group.
I am
poly,
queer, and I don't really
like the term bisexual but it's what is most applicable. I live
with my wonderful friends
ice0wl and
givemebeauty (she's the best, all you
straight boys should go show her your love)!
I'm a great pen-pal to have.
What I’m doing with my life
"Like a bird on the wire, like a drunk in a midnight choir, I have
tried in my way to be free"
I live my life in centre-ville. I live and work here, and don't own
a car, never will, so I keep things within biking distance. A scant
2.5Km away is the Main branch of the Public Library and where I
spend a lot of time. Ottawa's library system isn't the best, but I
support what we have.
I really like bikes. I don't claim to know all the workings of a
bike, but I do like to take them apart and fix them up.
I’m really good at
Colour. I think my use of colour is very keen, and I have an eye
for it. Every new place I go I look around to break the colours
down into a pallette and that's how I encapsulate the memory of
that place or moment. If we're together and I seem to be silent and
just looking around, it's not that I'm disinterested, it's that I'm
building a pallette to remember the experience.
It's very likely I could drink you under the table.
The first things people usually notice about me
I'm tall? Red hair? Big smile? Even bigger laugh?
I've been told all the above, followed by a comment about how shy
or quiet I am.

Music is key. I listen to anything from Folk to Metal, but keep in
mind I abhor commercial radio. I used to have a fairly long list
here, but I'll spare you that. Instead I direct you to my Last.fm
profile which is more detailed than any list could ever be
-->http://www.last.fm/user/autobird
Food: I don't eat meat, dairy, oils or refined grains. Sticking
mostly to
raw
foods/
whole
foods. This makes eating out with someone (i.e. on a date) a
little tricky. But there's always options like the Green Door, the
Table, etc. or cooking at my home!
The six things I could never do without
Some way to listen to music, a bike, Library card, kisses, my comfy
bed, coffee/tea.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Narwhals.
Running a press of my own.
Having a garden I could live off of.
Paper, ink, paint, twine, fish, birds, sky, sex.
What to do with pieces of string too small to use.
On a typical Friday night I am
This summer Friday and Saturday nights were spent volunteering with
Centretown Movies Outdoor Film Festival.
This fall Friday nights will be cut short because I start German
language classes at 9AM on Saturdays for the rest of the year.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit here
Kids scare me. They creep me out, really. I can't wrap my head
around it, they're just tiny humans. They're a constant mystery to
me.
You should message me if
..if you want to talk! Go out for coffee and talk about books,
music, films, art, design, technology, LIFE! A tea in the market, a
walk around town, maybe a bike ride. A night at the pub for some
more rowdy times.
If you're far away I suggest we become pen pals.
