My self-summary
I guess the I would describe myself a a big lover of learning. I'm very curious about the world around me and that really motivates the rest of what I do.

I have degrees in Computer Science and Philosophy, and I think I picked both majors because they allowed me to research the broadest range of topics outside my core classes.

I'm a pretty laid-back and open minded person.

I am a bit of a beer snob & just started brewing my own with some friends. I also went the Great Middle Coast Beer Tour last spring where we toured as many breweries as we could throughout the midwest.
What I’m doing with my life
I'm a software engineer at my day job. When not at my job, I try to keep myself pretty busy.

I make quite a bit of stuff:

I build furniture mostly from reclaimed and off cast wood.

I make guitar amps, and effect pedals & a few synths from kits (I have x0xb0x # 307). I'm just starting to restore a Fender Rhodes piano that came out of an old church.

I make music with the stuff mentioned above, but only for myself.

I just finished making a welder out of old microwave parts & I'm using it to learn metalworking.

I made a robot that carries a mini-keg in it & serves beer.

I have a scooter I'm constantly tinkering with (it's a 50cc & It'll do 65mph).
I’m really good at
Soldering.
Sanding (although I HATE it).
Wrenching.
Research, solving puzzles, prematurely guessing the endings of movies, trivia, logic.

I can make a pretty mean pizza (I make my own crust) & a darn good pineapple stir-fry.

Rye bread.
The first things people usually notice about me
Probably my eyes (at least that's the first thing people always comment on)
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Books: I read a lot of Non-Fiction & Philosophy, and I'm usually half way into 2 or 3 books at once (old habits from school). I just finished: Dharma Bums, and Talking to Girls About Duran Duran, and a book about The Commodore Computer Company. I just started How to Wreck a Nice Beach; the History of the Vocoder from WWII to Hip-Hop (I'm pretty psyched about that one).
Magazines(kinda like books?):
Juxtapoz
Arkitip(when I can afford it, awesome Art Mag but it's expensive).
Scoot
Make
Scientific American
Grassroots Motorsports

Movies: I usually watch either the really good or the really bad movies with nothing in between. I'll watch an Ingmar Bergman film and then turn around and watch a Sogo Ishii film(It honestly gets worse than that... I have seen Killer Klowns from Outer Space, Troll2 & Berry Gordy's the Last Dragon so many times I can prob. quote them from memory).

Music: This is a big one for me & I'm all over the place, from Funk, Soul & R&B, to Underground Hip-Hop to 60's Garage Rock, to old Techno, to slow Sludge metal or even Ska & Rocksteady, etc, etc.

I spend a lot of time thinking about
The universe, art projects, the nature of time, dinner. I don't know, stuff. Being a recovering philosopher, I spend a lot of time thinking period, about anything & everything.
On a typical Friday night I am
Usually doing something with my friends. We watch a lot of bad movies & play a lot of board games. Possibly recovering from Thursday night (I'm in the beer league at The Waiting Room in St.Ann).
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
The Meters' recording of "Wichita Lineman" always makes me a bit wistful no matter how many times I hear it, and I can't explain why.
