I am creative, caring, and involved.
My Self-Summary
I don't really like meeting people very much, but I think getting
to know people is perhaps the most beautiful thing in life. I trust
easily and like to act like everyone's best friend. I'm a pretty
mellow person, but I like to cut to chase and don't enjoy
smalltalk.
One of the original "three adjectives" I used was "interested." I
took it down because it sounds out of context, but it is very apt:
I am a person who is interested in just about everything. I enjoy a
great many things, and love to hear other people talk about the
things they love the most.
I'm a pretty silly person, and kind of nerdy - I've given up trying
to be cool a long time ago. After all, there's more of us than
there are of them!
I am about as INTJ as it gets.
What I’m doing with my life
I am an editor for a small press, and spend a big chunk of my time
volunteering at a Buddhist temple. I live in Los Angeles with the
greatest roommates ever, and they make me smile every day.
I am an extremely busy person with a lot of interests, though I
like to spend the free time that I have relaxing with my friends
and family.
I’m really good at
My superpower is that I am impervious to boredom because everything
interests me, and I want to know every detail about
everything.
I've been told I tell a good story.
I have a strange talent for helping people move. I stack well.
The first things people usually notice about me
I took a survey! Apparently I ask interesting questions.
My favorite books, movies, music, and food
My favorite book tends to be the last good book that I read. Major
hits include: No-No Boy, Seymour: An Introduction, Extremely Loud
and Incredibly Close, The Journey Through Wales, and all things
Dostoevsky.
I end up watching High Fidelity unexpectedly at least once a year,
when something important has happened and it feels like the right
thing to do. I also really like Adaptation, There Will Be Blood,
and Lock, Stock, and Two Smoking Barrels
Also, the X Files was the best television show of the 90s.
I love live music, and my favorite band to see is Tea Leaf Green. I
also really dig Ben Folds, Tommy Wallach, Queen, Spock's Beard, Bob
Dylan, Our Lady Peace, and a bunch of other stuff that doesn't seem
to go together.
Curry of all stripes is the greatest food. Curry is wholesome,
flavorful home cooking that brings people together. I have a few
curry recipes that I make pretty well - my user name comes from the
fact that I like to bring homemade curry to parties.
The six things I could never do without
People are the only really irreplaceable thing. However, in the
spirit of the question, here are six things that are
delightful:
1. Harmonicas.
2. Peaches.
3. Barefootedness.
4. Hand gestures.
5. Knowingly lame humor.
6. Unique pronunciations of everyday words.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
I think a lot about language.
I also dream about all the other things I could be doing with my
life. In some strange parallel universe I am a gardener, a trumpet
player, a diplomat, and a beatnik.
My dream job, if I could do anything, would be working the big cane
that hooks people off the stage at 1920's vaudeville theater.
On a typical Friday night I am
Cooking a meal for my friends and enjoying a night of madcap
adventures and warm conversation.
The best way to spend a Friday night is to go to a concert and then
have Korean tofu at two in the morning.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit here
The thing I notice first about anyone and everyone is their voice.
Some people have voices that you can curl up in and listen to for
hours and hours.
You should message me if
Message me if you are a person who is happy and content with her
life, but is looking for a bit of interest and a partner in
crime.
I love where I'm at in my life right now, and I love to share.
