I love food from all over the world, but I really don't have a
favorite. I go to a new restaurant each time I go out if I can help
it. Some things that do come to mind are Peruvian ceviche, Arabic
food (particularly schwarmas and zahtar bread), sashimi and sushi,
and pasta with sauces made from my family recipes.
Some of the authors whose books I read over and over are: Lois
McMaster Bujold, Isaac Asimov, David Weber, Frank Herbert, Larry
Niven, Neil Gaiman, Terry Pratchett, Elizabeth Moon, and Anne
McCaffery. I majored in philosophy at university, and gained a
craving for philosophical treatises. Some of my favorite
philosophers include Hume, Kant, Nozick, Quine, Ronald Dworkin,
John Rawls, and Elizabeth Anscombe. Beyond that, I just enjoy
reading in general. I feel it's one of the best ways to
learn.
I don't watch that much television; I don't even have a television
right now, but there are shows that I like. I've always been a fan
of all of the Star Trek series; as for more recent shows, I like
Big Bang Theory, Battlestar Galactica, all the Stargate series, The
Office, and Parks and Recreation. I've also recently started
watching 30 Rock on Hulu, which I am finding to be hilarious.
Some of my favorite comedians and performance artists are Monty
Python, Eddie Izzard, Bill Hicks, Tina Fey, and a really great
improv duo from Oklahoma called
Twinprov, which everyone
should watch (you can find some of their stuff online) if they like
improvisational comedy.
I also like Broadway musicals. Some of my favorites are Starlight
Express, Phantom of the Opera, Oklahoma! (of course), The
Producers, Evita, Wicked, West Side Story, and Avenue Q.
As far as music, I'll listen to anything, but my favorite genres
are hardcore punk, punk rock and ... I don't know what you'd call
it, late-90's-style-pop-alternative? I don't know... like pop, ska,
grunge, all mixed up. Oh, and 80's music. And how can I forget to
mention
Cowboy
Mouth!
