My self-summary
Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
I am not looking to be fixed, I am not broken. I am not looking for a partner, I have one. I seek the unmet friend, people I can laugh and talk with, share secrets, fears, and accomplishments with. I have done a lot of things, lived a lot of places, loved a lot of people. I have looked into the abyss, I am endlessly interested in life, how it works, why people do the things they do, how stuff fits together, the sweet texture of people's hearts, and understanding the maps of people's lives.
One of the main things I am looking for is a Muse I can talk to. You know, those late night phone calls about issues, accomplishments, dreams and plans. Meeting for breakfast, supportive texts… Secrets, imagination…
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
I have a day job in the health system that I enjoy and am very good at. It is exciting, interesting, dangerous, rewarding, and often times funny. On the side, I am a craftsman, sharpening knives as a kind of spiritual metaphor. I honor the craft, the product, and the customer. I have an excellent reputation in both professions. During the summer, I go to yard sales, make great deals, meet a total mix of fun and interesting people, and pretty much supply everything we need as a household.
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
I'm really good at bargaining. I love yard sales. My theory is that if you do it right, you walk away with a great bargain, you had fun, the seller had fun, they were glad you came to the sale and glad you have the item. I'm really good at talking down violent, confused, and agitated people. I'm really, really good at sharpening knives, which I find relaxing and centering... I call it, seeking the Liminal Edge, that fine line between who you are and what you become.

It probably depends on what hat I'm wearing (in a metaphorical sense). When I am working, I am told there first impression is rather intimidating, I'm pretty big, then my smile gives me away. When I'm out and about, I suppose people notice the tattoos first. I have some pretty striking work. When I'm at the park, people usually notice my dogs.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food

I don't even know where to begin. My musical taste is eclectic, from Storm Large, to Zoe Keating. I love world music, acoustic instrumentals, Cirque de Soliel, Afro Celt...

As far as food goes, Japanese, Korean, Chinese, italian, Thai, Mexican, Cuban, Cajun, Arabic, and burgers...

Regarding books... I'll have to come back for that... wide ranging interests... Too many to even start.
The six things I could never do without
Think outside the box. Sometimes the little things can say a lot.
Creative process
A wild, out-of-control garden
Meaningful work
Yard Sales (during the Summer)
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Global warming, lunch, or your next vacation… it’s all fair game.
I spend a lot of time thinking about how people tick, about the subtleties of human interaction and how that applies to my life and my work. I think about how to improve my professional skill in knife sharpening, and what my next video will be about.
I suppose I spend a lot to time thinking about a lot of things. I love to develop theories about things. About why things happen and what might happen next… I also love being proved wrong.
On a typical Friday night I am
Netflix and takeout, or getting your party on — how do you let loose?
Out at a movie, working, practicing my craft, working on a creative project.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
I have a learning disability that gives me a unique view of the world. I can be very bad at some normal things, like names, numbers, and memory, but I can be very good at some other things, like emotional content, people, problem solving, and tactile memory.
