I am miniature, funny, and caring.

My Self-Summary

So the funny thing is that I often think, "the people I want to meet would not use OKCupid." Yet, I am on here.

I moved to Portland from New York in July and it was one of the better decisions I have ever made.

I think the best way to describe myself would be, "working contradictions." I am super cynical, but at the same time have infinite compassion and affection. I love cute animals, but not babies. I am really shy and guarded, but once we are close I have loads of trust. I look like a pixie, but like to drink gin and whiskey. These may not be the best examples, but they are what I am coming up with right now.
I think it is also noteworthy that I am really passive, though I am trying to be less so.

If you're into Myers-Briggs personality types I'm infp.

note: "queer" is more accurate than "bi" (queer as in i like everyone--male, female, somewhere in between or nowhere at all)

What I’m doing with my life

I'm currently trying to have nice moments whenever possible.

Sometimes these nice moments are at work, but more often they involve walking slowly listening to my "walking slow" mix, biking super fast and feeling good about what my legs can do, making people laugh or at least smile, writing letters to my friends back home, waking up early to eat scones by myself.

Hopefully soon this section will say, "going to grad school for an MFA in Poetry."

I’m really good at

Making people laugh, being consistent, accidentally seeming mean because I am shy, drinking my weight in espresso, cracking myself up, and pretending to have a Long Island accent.
Oh! and whistling. I'm really good at whistling.

The first things people usually notice about me

My tiny voice and how impressively tough I look

My favorite books, movies, music, and food

I hate picking favorites. My favorite book might be Notes From (the) Underground, but it also might me The Hours. I love Bukowski, Kafka, David Sedaris, Jonathan Safran Foer, Toni Morrison. It's really hard to pick! Right now I am reading A Man Walks into a Room by Nicole Krauss and lots of Frank O'Hara.
Movies: I don't watch movies very often, it's sad. I do like: Elf, Mrs. Doubtfire, Mystery Science Theater 3000: The Movie, Melinda and Melinda, Annie Hall
Music: favorites always change, but always on heavy rotation: Madeline Adams, Andrew Bird, The Smoking Popes, The Mountain Goats
Food: I have a sweet tooth so any and all baked goods. Also, curried veggies (I guess it's noteworthy that I'm a vegetarian.)

I spend a lot of time thinking about

If the random cats I pet on the side of the road will bite me and how awesomely prolific my armpit hair is

On a typical Friday night I am

Working and then going on an adventure, or working and then falling asleep at 10pm.

The most private thing I’m willing to admit here

I really hate unfinished wood. Like, don't even come near me with a popsicle.

You should message me if

you are shy, you like to share, feel really passionate about anything, if you can get excited because someone else is excited by something, if you are witty and enjoy sarcasm. Also, if you'll laugh when I pretend to vomit because I am nervous.
