a leave

Nov 25, 2009

I'll deactivate this when I have spare time to figure it out or just come and read Benjuk's blog.

But a close friend is battling a serious illness and I dont really have any bandwidth for OKC currently.

(I just spent a month back in Texas visiting family and friends and got to have dinner with some friends of friends who were younger.)

I had to burst someone's bubble tonite. At 26 she was hoping that 40 would bring wisdom and stuff.

I burst into laughter and gently explained that the heavens did not part and rays of wisdom did not shine upon my head.

We seek love at every age - is what occurs to me. Perhaps as we get older we see where we held ourselves back due to fears and insecurities rather than risk.

Now we know pain and how to get over ourselves

It's always gonna hurt, it just won't always scar or kill you. And you're going to recover and get back on that horse.

But none of that came from a specific age, but rather a certain amount of experiences *shrug*

Man, if I could go back to 18 and keep everything I know now ... That's a pretty common wish, I feel goofy for it. Nothing to do but keep going on.

I can has!

<img src="http://pics.livejournal.com/bellacrow/pic/000k8css">I get minor obsessions.  Currently it is Vietnamese food and coffee. I'm not that much of a cook, so my goal is a little more reasonable.

You just have to know where to go ...

my "single" status

Hrmmm, I'm not sure how visible this is, so I may add blurb about this on my profile as well.

As of this Nov I will have been separated for longer than I was married which was a mere 17 months. It's just a matter for the lawyers to do their thing. We live in different states and aren't involved in each others lives at all.

I'm reading Christopher Moore's "Fool", the retelling of Lear from the fool's pov. I keep having to stop myself from reading it too fast, stopping so I can savor all the word play.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fool_(novel)

I was going to cut and paste a little bit to show you, but go the author has posted Chapter 1 for you.

The first taste is always free ...

I'm taking a break from helping cover Iranian info and headed out to the DNA lounge for a couple of hours to see the Hubba Hubba Revue.

If you see me, say hi

Iranian elections

Jun 14, 2009

First off you should know that Iran is a theocracy, so the President has limited power.

But who wants Ahmandinejad anywhere near where others can hear his stupidity?

But if Mousavi doesnt back down, is it going to be the worst rioting since '79?  It's already bad, they are already going after Uni students, both rioting and in the dorms.  Most communications have been cut.  But some are able to Twitter and the BBC has some limited camera crew on the ground.

Maker Faire

I hate that extra "e".

I got to go for a bit on Saturday evening. I should post my pics somewhere.

Who else went?

I fell in love with the snail vehicle.

BayCon roll call

May 24, 2009

Who's there?

I spent the afternoon chatting with friends. I'll be taking an old friend to the Con tomorrow.

I've worked it for so many years I dont know how to actually "attend".

Apparently people that have known me for years are not recognizing me in the wig with the devil horns. wtf, even my own aunt?
