I am artistic, pensive, and outré.
My Self-Summary
I am my least favourite subject about which to speak and write, so
asking me to do so ties my tongue (and in this case, brain) in a
knot.
So, some basics: I'm a student at San Francisco State University,
undeclared with very little idea what I should do with myself. I
live for
music and
most things artistic; they're really the only things that make me
truly happy. My hobbies include singing, playing bass, reading,
comic books, video games, having discussions on life,
writing and
photography. I also
enjoy cooking, though I'm not especially good at it.
I generally keep to myself, though I love meeting new people. The
first impression I generally give is a bit stand-offish, like I'm
completely satisfied living in my own little world without the
influence of others, but I'm actually just very shy; however, this
impression also stems from my disconnection with the walking
majority as a whole. I think a lot about pretty much everything,
and generally my opinions are slightly tangential of usual. I don't
like people who come off too strong, full of themselves, or think
they know everything about something. Keeping an open mind is very
important, and I believe that not doing so has fucked this country
sideways. Also I dislike censorship, in nearly every form.
What I’m doing with my life
Currently I'm attending college, not particularly enjoying it, and
wishing my life were headed in a different direction. I'm trying to
get a job to fund my addiction to concerts, though to be honest I
would rather be in a band playing
concerts than working a "proper" job.
I’m really good at
Telling the blunt truth and having a sense of humour about things.
Writing, singing, taking pictures. Being modest, since I only say
these things because I've been told I'm good at them.
The first things people usually notice about me
The fact that I won the genetic mutation lottery and have long red
hair, very pale skin, and a lot of height.
My favorite books, movies, music, and food
Books: essentially anything by Neil Gaiman, The Diamond Age, most
of Chuck Palahniuk's work, A Clockwork Orange, Shakespeare
Movies: The Dark Knight, Pulp Fiction, Serenity, Fight Club, Army
of Darkness, Kevin Smith movies, Run Lola Run, Boondock Saints,
Monty Python, Garden State, Equilibrium, V For Vendetta
Music:
The
Matches, The Dresden Dolls, Envy On The Coast, Muse, Every
Avenue, Queen, David Bowie, Pink Floyd, Led Zeppelin, Alkaline
Trio, Franz Ferdinand, Cobra Starship... I could go on
forever
I like
Italian
food, being Italian, as well as Thai, Mexican, and general
European cuisine.
The six things I could never do without
Music.
Books/comic books.
Interesting shoes.
People to watch and occasionally interact with.
The ocean.
My camera.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Everything and anything. Music's often the tie that holds
everything together, but I often just watch people and wonder about
their lives. Generally those pondering get turned into stories.
Lately I have been thinking a lot of the process of making records,
and also tattoos; completely separate, but in a way linked.
On a typical Friday night I am
I'm either at my mother's house visiting her and slothing about or
running amuck around the Bay Area with friends.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit here
I take lukewarm showers at best. Usually they're rather cold.
You should message me if
If you can hold your own in an
intellectual
conversation, you're alright in my books. If not, I'll most
likely politely ignore you. That is, if you don't prove yourself an
asshat, an imbecile, or completely undeserving of my time.
I like talent but have high standards. If you impress me, that's
something to write home about.
