My self-summary
Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
**I'm on a dating interlude at the moment, as I have met quite a lovely lady, whom I am enjoying a lot. If you are up for playing board games through, still totally up for that.**

Oh boy has it been a while! Reading through my old profile is a bit of a walk down memory lane…

So, I’m Chris, and I’m a 28 year old cis-gendered straight Anglo-Saxon male, with tendencies towards being a scientific, untravelled, rational, philosophical, nerdfighting hippy. My primary focuses as of late are paying a mortgage with a sub-40K/year job, engrossing myself in a broad spectrum of geeky pursuits, and wondering if I can start my own business in [yet to be specified].

Can I be more specific? Yes! Will I do it here when your attention span is limited? No, I’ll save my rambling verbose responses for later.
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
I work in the environment sector, I listen to a lot of podcasts in the car, I play computer games and pretend I can review/critique them, I’m teaching myself Ruby programming in the hopes it will pay off, I come to grips with that my work colleagues decided I was the safest person to elect the OH&S officer, I come up with interesting questions to ask people to sate my curiosity, think of interesting things to say on reddit, but don't say them cause, you know... And watching a LOT of youtube videos in lieu of not having a TV.
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
Bipedal locomotion! Asking people questions to get them talking! Annoying people by asking them lots of questions! Ending sentences with exclamation points! Stating the obvious!
Playing board games!
The first things people usually notice about me
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
Picture in your mind, you are at a bar or the like, and a guy, tallish, unkempt hair -facial and otherwise-, walks up to you, and you brace yourself for the inevitable.

“Why hello there, I’m Chris” he starts, while you catch a whiff of a deodorant that is not for his demography “…and I have a question for you.”

“Here we go” you wonder to yourself, “and that is?” you actually voice.

[insert any of the following questions to follow]

“What’s the largest prime number you can think of off the top of your head?”

“Do you know what the difference between a nerd and a geek is?”

“How would you design a house if the geometry wasn’t Euclidean?”

“If you could ask a question to someone you’ve just met to hopefully hook up with them, what would you ask?

“Have you ever wanted to splash a drink in a guy’s face like in the TV shows?”
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food

Rather then just list stuff, I’ll just list my very favourites, and a few reasons -why- I like them.

Visual Media (Comedy): Scott Pilgram vs. the World.
Every time I watch it I pick up on new things, it is a fresh kind of funny, it has plenty of gaming references, the comic book aesthetic, the music, the split takes…

Visual Media (Comedy/Horror): Cabin in the Woods.
Joss Whedon is genius, breaks the mould in all the right places with twists to actually keep you guessing.

Visual Media (Surreal/Silly): Excel Saga.
Probably not the best first anime to watch, and that problem is even worse when you watch the -last- episode first, but by golly did it set an impression!

Audiophony (Cause that’s a word): Gomez, The Exies, Celldweller, The Glitch Mob, Bjork, Gotye, Muse.
Yeah, ok, it is hard to pick one.

Written Media: Harry Potter and the Methods of Rationality HPMOR
I liked the original works, but I kept thinking there are a lot of unanswered questions -- this story asks them, and a whole bunch more! It’s funny, it’s moving, it’s sad, it’s educational and, it’s the best thing I’ve ever read!
Honourable mention goes to “The Fault in Our Stars” TFiOS (so glad I read the last third of that at home) and the first four Discworld books (I’ve only just started - it is a wonderful silly kind of nonsense.)
The six things I could never do without
Think outside the box. Sometimes the little things can say a lot.
Well, the six things that have the biggest influence in my life are; my health, my car, my phone, my computer, my place and people I directly know. I know - kind of a cop out, but I either go the really obvious route, or the horribly specific route.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Global warming, lunch, or your next vacation… it’s all fair game.
What -don’t- I think about! But for sake of my sanity, I’ll list -some- of the things I think about

Should Euthanasia be legalised? Are our thoughts limited by language? What would be your graffiti tag be? Is there such a thing as Good and Evil - or is it just a construct of mankind? What would you want to be reincarnated as? What rate do you charge your free time at? Why is it that this OKCupid profile is replacing all my double spacing between each sentence with single spacing? Why are there lots of people that hunt for the best parking spot in a shopping center when there are hundreds of free ones like 20 meters away? When is the next Evangelion Movie actually going to come out, and is it going to be screened in Australia, and will it be subtitled when it does? How would I go about making the most profit from owning a Portal Gun? If my friends were going to make a band, who would have what roles? If I was able to ask Tim Minchin one question, what question would it be? Do old people wear old people clothes because old people wear old people clothes, or because they just got older wearing the clothes they used to wear? What am I going to be like when I grow old? What would my life be like if I was born a girl? If I had a time machine, how would I use it? Furthermore, would I be able to use it and not create a paradox? Would the rate of inflation be different if humans lived for radically longer period of time? What would I do if I was “elected” ruler of Earth and how long would it be before I was assassinated? If I could relive my life from any point in my life so far, would I, and if so, from what point?

[How much would you sell/lease your hearing/sight?, How awesome the fan fiction "Harry Potter and the Methods of Rationality," why people are mentioning they like using the Oxford Comma in OKC profiles, especially when it raises just as many ambiguities in its absence (((oh, look how fancy I am in using a grammatical device that has little practical application))), If it were your job to consume alcohol, how much could you realistically be able to consume?]

That is seriously the tip of the iceberg.
On a typical Friday night I am
Netflix and takeout, or getting your party on — how do you let loose?
Going out with atypical friends, to atypical places, drinking atypical beverages, talking about the atypical, you know, the typical.
