My self-summary
Well hello there.

This summer, I'm dreaming of Berlin and missing Paris. It's been a few years since I've been back and my French is getting a bit rusty. I've been on some weekends away this spring in the US, but Europe is happening in the fall. I need to leave the country every year at least once.

I think better on trains, and wish I had to time to travel that way more. I think I've made most major life decisions on trains: what to major in in college (art history), whether or not I wanted to keep living in SF about seven years ago (I didn't).

I love big ideas discussed by fires with scotch. In summer, I like small ideas by the ocean with white wine or sangria.

I know all my friends' birthdays, and parties are a big deal to us. We cook a meal together at least once a week.
What I’m doing with my life
I have a crazy job. I wrangle words, writers, and Ferraris, among other things.

I'll tell you more if we meet.
I’m really good at
Fixing sentences that sound crazy so they make sense.
Traveling and making an adventure out of experiences. Jet lag does not touch me.
Thinking of the perfect thing to say about 5 minutes too late.
Getting dressed up.
Picking up accents.
The first things people usually notice about me
They think they have met me before.

This happens almost daily. Then they realize I look just like their cousin's roommate or their niece's co-worker.

It's creepy.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Yes, please.

I love books that keep me up all night and then make me get up early so I can squeeze just a bit more in before work (most recent in that category, Me Before You, and The Fault in Our Stars. Apparently I like crying lately) I just started Donna Tartt's Goldfinch, and it had me at hello. I also love classics. I read a lot of Russian Literature as a teenager, hiding from the sun under umbrellas. How silly. Now I love the sun and prefer books that make me laugh, like David Sedaris and Freddy and Fredericka.

I'm the kind of person who wants to talk about the movie we just saw. And I want to talk about the movies we loved, even if we haven't just seen them. I can handle subtitles. If they're in French, I can sometimes tell if they're wrong. I always want to see everything at the Laemmle or the Landmark, but I like a good blockbuster, too.

I don't have cable, so my m.o. with TV is to watch shows about 7 years too late on netflix and talk to people at work like they are new. "Have you heard of this cool show?" I ask. "It's called Buffy the Vampire Slayer?" I'm currently on Torchwood. I watch Downton Abbey and Sherlock in real time.

I love music, but am not terribly well-versed. I love Spotify and Pandora Stations. And friends who make me mixes. Will you make me a mix? What would be the first song on it?

Menus sometimes make me groan in embarassing When-Harry-Met-Sally style. I love menus. And the food that comes after. Sometimes I get jealous of people when they show up at restaurants hungry and I'm already full.
The six things I could never do without
A bathtub
Manual transmission
My passport
That mysterious 6th thing
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Why people still think it's ok to use comic sans and papyrus.
On a typical Friday night I am
Out with friends...

Seeing a play, having a round of drinks, seeing music or a movie or hanging out at someone's house cooking.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I'm afraid of the two little girls from The Shining.

You like big words, and you're not afraid to use them, but you still have a naughty sense of humor.
You know where your passport is right now.
At this point in your life, you are ready to get real. You're in it to win it. And you can talk about dreams and fears and all that messy stuff we sometimes try to avoid.
You can laugh at your mistakes, and you go out on a limb for what you believe. You like to hold hands at the movies and you're excited about going away for the weekend somewhere we can see all the stars.
