My self-summary
Tall, dark, and geeky, hopefully not in a bad way.

What I’m doing with my life
Work hard, play hard, slack hard.

I'm a high-level IT simian for the day job, working from home 10-till-10 for 7 days, then the next 7 days is mine to enjoy.

Slacking is kicking back and reading (SF, mainly), some gaming (PC, PS3), or generalised scratting around on the 'net (I'm an infovore).

Playtime is clubbing with friends (Goth, occasional metal, or glowstick-waving-retard Industrial/EBM), or blatting around on my 'bike (BMW Adventure, atm), although there may be more here as work settles down in the future.
I’m really good at
Problem-solving.
Relaxing.
Being tall.
The first things people usually notice about me
Height. Why yes, I -am- tall, it's my hobby.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
This is approximate, but going on what I've got on the shelves...

Bookwise:
Most Terry Pratchett
Joe Haldeman, Forever War (which I really must re-read at some point)
Most Anne McCaffery
Large chunks of what can be charitably described as "pulp sci-fi" from the Black Library publishers, and similarly most of Baen's sci-fi. Not always highbrow, but they've good taste.
Most Iain M. Banks, going back a bit, large chunks of which I've read, but very little I actually seem to own.

Movies (in no particular order):
The Dark Knight, Batman Begins.
Avatar (yes, really. Plot wasn't deep, but the execution was marvellous).
Ghost in the Shell, and various extensions thereof.
Office Space.
Battle Royale.
The Italian Job. Original, of course.
Saving Private Ryan.
Kingdom Of Heaven.
Lost In Translation.
The World's Fastest Indian.
Armageddon.

Music I'm not very good at. I'll like a track, or two, from an artist if I hear it played, but I won't know who it is or what it's called.
However the following stand out:
Rammstein.
Queen.
Pendulum.
The Prodigy.

Food:
Heh. I run on what can be best termed "survival cookery", but given free rein and a budget to eat out it'll be:
Mexican (various. I'm made sad by the paucity of Mexican eateries in Birmingham).
Chinese (various).
Pizza.
Ye Olde English Breakfast. Although no-one ever gets the bacon right.
My general tastes are broad, though I'm definitely a carnivore, and fairly simple - delicate or subtle cookery, I will confess, is often lost on me, but on the flipside I rather prefer to taste my food instead of experience it; curry spices (for example) are an addon rather than a test of fortitude.
The six things I could never do without
My car.
My bike.
My PC.
The Internet.
Pizza
Books
On a typical Friday night I am
Either working or clubbing.

The latter helps unwind from the former, especially since working from home means that most of the time I don't get to see many people beyond my housemates and the cleaner, and sometimes it's pleasant just to be around people, interaction or no.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
Strangers scare me. Women, doubly so.
