I am happy, healthy, and honest.

My Self-Summary

I am aspiring to be a medical professional but have a long journey ahead. I decided to hang out my shingle here at okcupid because it seems like the only new people I'll be meeting for awhile will be fellow classmates. A while back I took a workshop on sea kayaking and found myself looking around going, 'gee isn't it nice nobody's talking about some terrible immunodeficiency disease?' So... I love meeting new people and learning about their lives, especially if they are really different than mine. I love to practice listening (is that wierd?), even though I'm not an expert.

I try to get out about at two weekends a month to visit the outdoors: kayaking, hiking, snowshoeing, backpacking, camping, etc. I'm finding my love of trees to be very difficult to balance with my love of medicine.

In case that's not enough here are a few of my favorites!
Instruments: Guitar, Piano, Cello, Violin, Shamisen, Harmonica, Taiko (not: organ)... I cannot play any of them.. but if you can.. props!
Colours: Blue, Orange and Green
Landscape: Trees, Stars, Ocean/Lake/River, Northern Lights
Season: Autumn
Animals: Panda (a classic leftover from childhood), leopards/mountain lions, mouse lemur, tasmanian tiger (extinct), alpacas
Cities: Kobe, Japan and Vancouver, BC
Climate: Temperate
And random: dirt, tingly shampoo, grapefruit body wash, meeting people who change my mind, listening to music, fireflies, old barns, pulleys, fading lines of perspective (e..g wheat row, grooves between tile floors, roads running into the distance), jackets, earrings (but don't you dare buy me any, cause I lose them... both), muscle soreness after a good workout, claw-foot bathtubs, standing in the rain naked, falling asleep in the sun, white curtains blowing in the wind, running on golf courses and in the forest, hammocks, interactive history, hugs, beer, pedicures, listening to heartbeats, seeing people open doors for each other, city lights from above, looking at water creatures in the weedy/swampy areas of lakes from a kayak, free entertainment (recitals, plays, potlucks, sunset, etc)...

Even though I am reluctant to admit it... I might be a bit of a romantic...

The six things I could never do without

food
water
air
shelter
clothing
love
(that's the basics right?)

I spend a lot of time thinking about

outdoors - it seems I constantly ruminate on where, what, how! (It's my happy place... ha ha)
school - out of necessity
what it means to be human - out of curiosity
my family - they mean a lot to me

On a typical Friday night I am

a) hanging out with friends
b) sleeping so that i can get up early and go kayaking, hiking, camping, backpacking...

The most private thing I’m willing to admit here

I get a little nervous around men I like or who I think like me...

You should message me if

you're interested in having a new friend. (Right now I feel like friend is a good first step...)

and... you want to meet in person. This e-mail/chat is not cutting it. I'll even make it easy for you to set up the first meeting: Central or North Seattle meet at a coffee shop.
