Hey there, I'm a 30 year old student in Albuquerque, New Mexico. I'm a geek, cook, gamer, and writer and I'm looking for the same in someone else, whether it be friends, dating, or whatever. I'm a bit odd, but I'm okay with that. I'm quiet and shy and maybe a bit passive sometimes, but I can be surprisingly assertive when I feel comfortable with someone or a situation.

I am quiet, smart, and geeky

At the moment I'm working on various creative writing projects and working as a database administrator, research assistant and technical editor for a small company that handles government contracts.

Writing and thinking creatively. I enjoy writing fiction (mostly sci-fi and fantasy, some game related) and I'm told that I do it reasonably well. I have 1 novel (the first of a trilogy) about 90% finished.

Cooking. I enjoy cooking. My stuff doesn't always come out the way I want or hope, but it does often enough that I feel I cook well.

Learning. I never want to stop learning. I like knowing things and I am quite smart. Maybe not as smart as I'd like to be, but more than enough to be considered intelligent by most who talk to me.

I'm also apparently a hell of a listener. Probably because I'm kind of quiet and don't talk a lot.

My gloriously shaved head. Seriously. I have an awesome head for shaving, apparently.

I've also been told, recently, that I have nice eyes that are somewhat intense.

I could spend all day listing my favorite books. Some examples are Lord of the Rings, The Dresden Files, Codex Alera, A Song of Ice and Fire, Wheel of Time, Vlad Taltos series, Good Omens, Discworld, Belgariad, several by John Ringo and/or David Weber, anything by Michael Moorcock, Snow Crash, Neuromancer, Eisenhorn Trilogy, several Star Wars books, Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy, IT, Harry Potter, Black Comany, some D&D books, and so on. If it's sci-fi or fantasy, it's possible I've read it and liked it.

Movies I could spend a similar amount of time on. Lord of the Rings, Matrix, Hellboy, Blade, Finding Nemo, the Incredibles, Wall-E, Star Trek, Indiana Jones, X-Men, Army of Darkness, Blazing Saddles, Spaceballs, Hot Fuzz, Shaun of the Dead, Casino Royale, Dogma, Aladdin, Transformers, Pirates of the Caribbean, Se7en, Bill & Ted, Legend of Drunken Master, Shaolin Soccer, and so many more.

I'm adding TV and anime shows here, because I think I should. As far as TV shows go, I enjoy Battlestar Galactica, Firefly, Dresden Files, Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Farscape, Good Eats, Mythbusters, Dirty Job, Deadliest Catch (I know, wacky), American Chopper, No Reservations, and Man vs. Food. Anime, I like Gundam, Slayers, Cowboy Bebop, Ghost in the Shell, Azumanga Daioh, Macross, Gurren Lagann, and a lot more.

Music, if it's not of the western or rap/hip-hop genres, there's probably some example that I like. Mostly I listen to hard rock, classic rock, metal, punk, and the like, but anything is fair game from classical to jpop to celtic and so on.

Food, I like all kinds of food. I'm not picky. I like New Mexican food, sushi, classic American stuff, Italian, whatever.

Books, the internet, music, movies, New Mexican food, and gaming.. and of course the basic human necessities (air, water, food, shelter, etc. etc.)

My life, more than anything. What I'm doing, how I can improve it, what I'd like to be doing, and so on. I want to go back to school and that stays in my mind. I also think a great deal about my creative projects and how I can take the things in my imagination and turn them into text.

I'm a homebody, so on a typical Friday, I'm right there. I'm probably playing an RPG or some other video game. Or I might be reading a novel or tabletop RPG book. I could be watching a movie or another DVD of some sort. Almost certainly talking with friends on the internet via IM or email.

I prefer women with some meat on the bones (so to speak) and some curves over women who don't.
