My self-summary
I wasn't a good player. I didn't go to practice very often but I went to all my matches and sometimes I won. I was an unpredictable player; I could double fault over and over or I could hit three aces in a row. I wore a white tennis skirt and a Dead Kennedy's t-shirt that said Too Drunk to F*ck which my coach pretended not to see. When we didn't have matches, we'd rally against each other, rotating players. I hated playing against Sharon Henderson. She didn't even like tennis; she did ballet and played just to annoy her sister (who was team captain). I'd be back at the baseline ready to go and Sharon would lob the ball completely flat right to the service line. Every time. I'd have to run, and no matter how I hit the ball, she'd get it back. Flat, heavy, no spin but back. Skittering across the court like a crab with her feet splayed.
What I’m doing with my life
Driving a lot these days! Luckily I love my car. I'm taking suggestions for audio books...
Working in an industry that I'm passionate about, spending time with my kids who are older and doing their own thing most of the time or with friends. Whatever I'm doing, I'm in the moment.
I’m really good at
making pies. My peach-blueberry pie will change your life. For real.
Scrabble, parallel parking and making up songs for my dog.
The first things people usually notice about me
that I look like someone they know and/or they think I can give them directions (I usually can't).
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
I have a love/hate feeling about this section. Seems like men's profiles have almost nothing except a love of Two and a Half Men and The Shawshank Redemption or it's an endless list of obscurity that screams, "look how cool I am". I'm not even slightly cool but this is stuff I like. I yam what I yam.

Louis CK, True Detective, Game of Thrones, Meet the Press (I have a weird crush on David Gregory), Girls, you know, premium cable. I also really like House Hunters - sometimes I yell at the people when they pick the wrong house.

Can't live without Pandora. Love to see music live at places like Tin Angel and WCL. I like a little bit of everything but faves include Marc Broussard, Al Green, anything Stax, the Roots, Jason Mraz, Jonatha Brooke, Steel Pulse, Dispatch, Van Morrison, The Clash, Buzzcocks, Squeeze, WXPN and NPR. Not that it matters unless you're on a road trip with me because I can be a ballbuster about the playlist...

Movies are fun! If it has Will Ferrell in it, I'll want to see it. Judd Apatow is my God. But I also like classics like Moonstruck, It's a Wonderful Life, Love Actually, American Beauty, The Princess Bride, Pulp Fiction, Almost Famous.

Read "The Goldfinch" while on vacation a couple weeks ago and thought it was great. Otherwise, NYT online throughout the day, Byliner, Cormac McCarthy, Jim Harrison, David Sedaris, the New Yorker. I'm the weirdo who's thrilled to find an old stack of New Yorkers or Harpers...I also like long and rambling NYT columns.

I'm in hospitality so food is definitely of interest. I'm an adventurous person and that applies to food too. The only thing I'm not crazy about is Indian but anything else is cool. I know the absolute best BBQ place...
I spend a lot of time thinking about
"You have to go the way your blood beats. If you don't live the only life you have, you won't live some other life, you won't live any life at all.'" James Baldwin
