My self-summary
Much of my personal philosophy comes from this quote- " A man is about as happy as he makes his mind up to be."-
Abraham Lincoln

Apologies first and foremost as I realize this is rather long. I'm not gifted with words and am trying to represent myself accurately. I know that some of you may have short attention spans but please do me the courtesy of reading my entire profile as I will do the same for you.

I am not going to tell you everything, almost everything but not all of it. After all isn't part of the joy of getting to know someone, actually getting to know them? That being said some brief self-statements are in order. I'll try not to bore you while using the pronoun "I", ad nauseam. Plus, the details of my life are quite inconsequential. **Dr. Evil Laugh** Here you go....

My name is Phil
I'm originally from Chicago but have lived in Arizona since 1999.
I don't put much faith in those briggs meyer personality type tests but if you must know I'm an ENFP.

What I'm looking for:
As stated I prefer women. Redheads are my favorite but not mandatory. I like petite women as I am somewhat skinny/smallish myself but have dated girls with curves before and its been fine. It would be nice to date another bisexual person but if you're open minded about those things that is good. A woman that can cook would be amazing. Someone who is independent, has a strong character and sees the big picture in love and life. It is important that you have some self awareness, some shared interests and the desire to really connect with others on a deep and meaningful level, as well as a silly not so serious one. Please have a sense of humor. While I agree that a man should initiate things we do live in 2013 and an aggressive woman is a turn on. Patience is important too. Not looking for random hook ups. Please don't be afraid to talk about yourself. Show me how talented, dorky, smart, and/or amazing you are. Smarts are a turn on. Both street and book ones. Relationships are a two way street and both parties need to make an effort. If you do message me please show me that you actually read my profile and attempt some form of worthy conversation. If you need a hint, discuss music or history with me. While it is flattering,I'm not going to respond to "you are cute" , "i want to get in your pants" comments. I want to get in someones pants too but there is a process to follow here. I tend to take things pretty slow, maybe it's my Capricorn moon, so don't have expectations right off the bat please. Lets communicate and see where things go. I'm very easy going and don't get worked up much so please be of a similar temperament. Enjoy the process of getting to know someone it really is much fun. I hope you all find what you are looking for.
What I’m doing with my life
I'm a licensed massage therapist, yoga teacher and lighting designer/programmer. I taught yoga for ten years but kind of got burned out on it. After an extended break to pursue other interests, I have been getting back into a personal practice and teaching more. The lighting design is something I just sort of fell into. I do enjoy it and do a lot of work with bands, theatre, dance, and corporate gigs. Ive done all kinds of shows and worked with bands you have heard of and others you probably haven't. Really the best part is getting all the lights to do what I tell them when I tell them and with the correct color. Im big into color and contrast. I'm constantly striving to become a better person.
I’m really good at
Non attachment. Moving stealthily. Hugs. Massages. Making others laugh. Making myself laugh. Driving long distances for live music. Compliments. Generosity. Playfully inflating my ego, or yours. Loving others. The board game Sorry. British accents. Keeping things in perspective.
The first things people usually notice about me
My eyelashes. I guess they are long. My eyes, one of them is lazy. Possibly, my calm demeanor.

I almost always have my kindle with me.

When it comes to food I enjoy a variety of things. I guess Im kind of a foodie but not as extreme as some folks. Thai, Polish, Indian, Korean, Chinese, Spanish are all good with me. I try and eat organic and healthy but I'll be the first to admit, I could live on duck, patte, or Italian beef sandwichs.

My animals.
My brain.

How to apply generosity and unconditional love in my daily life. Am I living up to my potential?
Should i develop an alter ego that just comes out in the bedroom? The new music i just discovered. The old music i havent listened to in a long time. Why the hell I'm thinking so much.
On a typical Friday night I am
Playing music. Taking it easy with some wine or a good novel. Watching a classic movie or possibly seeing a concert.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
