My self-summary
Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
I love to surf but am not very good at it, I like to read voraciously, I am a devourer of knowledge and I am insatiably curious.
I consider myself a very principled man though I don't have a religious bone in my body and I'd sooner die than betray a friend.

I've traveled to South America (briefly), most of the Caribbean islands, Europe a few times, a number of places in Asia and many of the states of the union. I love to learn about new cultures but I'm a bit reluctant to try new foods.
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
I philozophize for a living and I love it. 12 years ago I made the decision to pursue a ph.d. and I haven't regretted it yet. I consider teaching to be my calling and I take my career very seriously.
I also currently teach a free online philosophy course and am writing an e-book, a good old-fashioned book and I run a start-up game company on the side.
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
teaching, writing, thinking and most things mental. I'm also very social; I'd love to have a dinner party every week, maybe in addition to a cocktail party. I generally like to host parties.

I'm incredibly cerebral. I read constantly, and from all sorts of sources. I read philosophy, psychology, sociology, history, anthropology, physics and more. I'm very intellectually curious.
The first things people usually notice about me
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
I have decently nice hair and I look younger than I am. I'm really charismatic to the point that I annoy my wife (who is almost painfully introverted).
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Help your potential matches find common interests.
Music: I don't listen to any music

Books: Republic, Neuromancer, Ender's Game, Nicomachean Ethics, Snow Crash, Stranger in a Strange Land, Martian Chronicles, Utopia, Experience and Nature

Movies: Matrix, Inception, Serenity, Ghost in the Shell, Princess Mononoke

Shows: Dr. Who, Battlestar Galactica, The Walking Dead, Firefly, House.

Video games: I think I played every final fantasy series until X, I love Tenchu in all its iterations but I think I liked 3 the best. I enjoy RTS occasionally (Warcraft, Starcraft) but mostly play League of Legends right now. My roommate took his xbox with him when he moved out so now I don't have a 3rd gen console (wii doesn't count).

Favorite comic characters: Punisher, Batman, Iron Man and Judge Dredd. All unaltered humans at their best.

I dig most asian cuisine such as Chinese and Japanesse (especially sushi). I like some Thai and some Indian and I generally dislike seafood though.
The six things I could never do without
Think outside the box. Sometimes the little things can say a lot.
1) intellectual stimulation
2) bodily pleasure (sexual and non)
3) aesthetic pleasure
4) honor from those I respect
5) social interaction
6) competition (games, sports, video games, etc)
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Global warming, lunch, or your next vacation… it’s all fair game.
epistemology, rhetoric, political theory, ethics and futurism. I think a lot about sustainability, education and justice, but I find my work consumes too much of my time to volunteer these days.

I also spend time thinking about the cyber-zompocalyse that is coming once we create partial or full conversion cyborgs ....
On a typical Friday night I am
Netflix and takeout, or getting your party on — how do you let loose?
having a dinner party with 10 of my closest friends
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
I often fear I lack the courage to do the dreams I have.
