My self-summary
Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
My name is Mike, making bad decisions since 1985! My favorites include vinyl records, IPA's, good bourbon, live music, and the occasional cigar.

So what brings me to online dating? I'm a real old school kind of guy. I don't watch reality TV, I approach people I'm interested in talking to, and I don't have or want a smartphone. I like doing real things with people I am genuinely interested in spending time with, and would like to meet someone that thinks in a similar manner.

A few other things I like:

Going out for food and drinks socially and having a laugh with good friends.

Being outside when the weather is nice. I never say no to a day trip down the shore. I love the beach and the lifestyle that surrounds it.

Spending evenings or rainy days in listening to records while drinking some wine or sipping some whiskey.

Walking or riding a bike through the city.

A great date for me can be as simple as an afternoon in the park getting to know you, but we can also grab a beer or coffee and see how we get along.

My work schedule is a little unorthodox, but I actually like it a lot. It gives me a lot of variety, but some people can't handle it. It goes a little something like this:

I work on call around the clock on a 2 hour call window, which means I have to report to work 2 hours after I get a call. I have two days off each week that I don't have to worry about being called, and they rotate from week to week. For example, this week I may be off Friday and Saturday, and next week I will have off Saturday and Sunday, then the week after that I'm off Sunday and Monday, and so on. Some weeks I may be called all 5 days, and some weeks I may only be called for 3 of my 5 days. If you can figure out how this continues congrats you're smart enough to pick up pattern recognition and we might stand a chance!
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
I bought my house in Fishtown when I was 21. I'm a railroad conductor. I love living in Philly and love what I do.
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
Being optimistic.

Food is great all around. Every food is my favorite food, especially if it has some spice to it. I love to go out to eat and try new dishes. Some of the top ones are:

Sushi/maki rolls
Good steak
Seared salmon
Most vegetables
The six things I could never do without
Think outside the box. Sometimes the little things can say a lot.
- My close family and good friends.

- My house. I take a lot of pride in my home.

- Living near the shore

I don't know if there is anything else I absolutely couldn't live without. I have pretty much everything I need, without getting ridiculous.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Global warming, lunch, or your next vacation… it’s all fair game.
Where I want to be in the future.
On a typical Friday night I am
Netflix and takeout, or getting your party on — how do you let loose?
Maybe hanging out with friends in the city, relaxing at home, or working. There's an equal chance of any of those things happening.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
I'm a superhero.
You should message me if
Offer a few tips to help matches win you over.
- You'd like to meet for a drink or coffee. I'm not into messaging back and forth forever before we meet. The whole point of this is meeting someone, right?

- You know how to spell and write in English.

- You're not overweight. I make the effort to stay in good shape. If you look at your midsection and your gut hangs over your pants, save us both the mailbox space!

Oh, and please don't be addicted to your cell phone/social media. If you have to check your phone every two seconds wherever you are and take pictures of everything you do for social media, we won't work. That's a big one.
