My self-summary
Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
Real name: Christian Giliberto

I like thinking about things.
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
I'm currently an undergraduate studying philosophy in the honors program at New York University, with the hope of becoming a professional philosopher (i.e. philosophy professor) at some point!

I also study various natural sciences on the side, particularly physics, cognitive science, and evolutionary biology.

At the moment I am on a short medical leave for treatment for anxiety, and am thus living at home in Larchmont, NY. I return to Manhattan on May 28th!
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
Arguing about things, thinking about things, writing about the first two things. And learning esoteric things nobody except nerds care about.
The first things people usually notice about me
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
How much of a pretentious blowhard I am.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food

Being into "esoteric things nobody cares about," non-fiction books form the core of my productive life in many ways. Thus, it would be impossible to create a comprehensive list. It's a futile exercise.

If I had to list five books to introduce someone to my intellectual universe, I suppose I'd say:

Nichomachean Ethics by Aristotle
Lectures on Physics by Richard Feynman
On the Origin of Species by Charles Darwin
An Enquiry Concerning Human Understanding by David Hume
Every Thing Must Go by James Ladyman and Don Ross

Anything by Tarkovsky, Kubrick, Hitchcock, Miyazaki, Monty Python, the Italian neorealists (like Rossellini), the French New Wave, the Czech New Wave, Eisenstein, Pixar, or the German Expressionists (Murnau et al.)

My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic, The Regular Show, Arrested Development, Doctor Who, How I Met Your Mother, Top Gear. I don't really watch "serious" TV, I get enough seriousness elsewhere.

Far too much music to possibly list, but in terms of genres I like all types of EDM (trance, house etc.), metal, punk & hardcore, hip-hop, classical, alt rock...the list goes on.

I'm not picky, although I guess I prefer "lighter" foods rather than heavy, rich, savory foods.
The six things I could never do without
Think outside the box. Sometimes the little things can say a lot.
Books, learning, intelligence, freedom, love, adventure
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Global warming, lunch, or your next vacation… it’s all fair game.
To quote the philosopher Wilfrid Sellars, I'm interested in seeing how things in the broadest possible sense of the word hang together in the broadest possible sense of the words. I don't take this as a description of philosophy so much as my concerns in general.
On a typical Friday night I am
Netflix and takeout, or getting your party on — how do you let loose?
Reading, hanging out with friends, or mucking around on the internet.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
I like to sleep with a stuffed animal. Or 7.
