My self-summary
Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
I am intelligent, witty, and mainly interested in meeting other intelligent and witty individuals for conversation that is a hell of a lot more original than this sentence.
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
Living in NW DC and, like most people, have a white collar job connected to the government. Exciting stuff!
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
I'm a pretty damn good conversationalist, I mix a pretty good cocktail, I can fix computers, and keep promises.
The first things people usually notice about me
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
I've no idea. I am not other people. However, I am fairly tall (6'2"). Also, I am rarely covered in human blood. So, that tends to not scare away people. I find that key. Not being covered in human blood.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food

Books: I have a wide range of tastes from serious philosophy to light fiction. Everyone from Camus to Cormac McCarthy to Terry Pratchett to George R. R. Martin.

"We were somewhere around Barstow on the edge of the desert when the drugs began to take hold. I remember saying something like "I feel a bit lightheaded; maybe you should drive...." And suddenly there was a terrible roar all around us and the sky was full of what looked like huge bats, all swooping and screeching and diving around the car, which was going about a hundred miles an hour with the top down to Las Vegas. And a voice was screaming "Holy Jesus! What are these goddamn animals?"

The above is one of the best openings of any literature ever.

I watch more movies than TV but I do enjoy many of HBOs dramas as well as the stupid (yet brilliant) comedies on FX. Additionally, as with everyone else on the planet, I find "Firefly" to be superb.

As for movies, "The Big Lebowski" is a masterpiece as is "The Seven Samurai". I do enjoy foreign films but I also enjoy a well-made comedy like "Anchorman". Rifftrax from the MST3K guys are absolutely indispensable for navigating the horrors of modern Hollywood.

I am a huge music fan. Some of my very favorites: Bob Dylan (often called Bob Fucking Dylan), Leonard Cohen (Leonard Fucking Cohen), Tom Waits (Tom Fucking Waits), William Elliot Whitmore, R. L. Burnside, Iron & Wine, The Beatles, The Stones, Eilen Jewell, Nick Drake, Gov't Mule, Led Zeppelin, etc.

If you like Nickelback... well, it's not gonna work.

I like going to good (a good place can be anything from a shady looking food truck to somewhere requiring a tie) restaurants and trying new things. I am a bit of a foodie that way. I can't see myself living too far from a major city since the cuisine in many suburbs is lacking.

Also, green curry is one of the best things ever in the history of ever. Thai and Indian food is excellent since those cultures have vegetarian dining to an art form. I'm not a vegetarian but I like having the option of eating amazing vegetarian food rather than just bastardized western dishes that taste like they are lacking in ingredients... because they are.
The six things I could never do without
Think outside the box. Sometimes the little things can say a lot.
-My music collection
-Bacon
-My computer
-Live music
-My ne'er-do-well friends
-Books

I should probably list "The Big Lebowski" since this life we live in would be an empty, hollow shell without it.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Global warming, lunch, or your next vacation… it’s all fair game.
Philosophical questions, where to travel to next, what to do next weekend. My mind tends to wander.
On a typical Friday night I am
Netflix and takeout, or getting your party on — how do you let loose?
Usually I have something planned with friends. I have friends spread across PA and DC so I tend to take a lot of weekend trips. Generally live music is involved.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
I'm willing to admit quite a lot. I'm an open person. But I have no idea what to put here. I'll think of something.
You should message me if
Offer a few tips to help matches win you over.
-You are a woman that wears summer dresses while listening to live music and holding a glass of whiskey. Also, tattoos can be very awesome. Intelligence is not just encouraged, it is required. Smart people are hot.

Also, feel free to message me. This is the internet, not some bar where outmoded social rules of having the guy make the first move exist. If you think I am somewhat worthwhile, don't wait until I stumble upon your profile and message you. There are myriad reasons why I may not have messaged you despite you being a very interesting and cool person.
