My self-summary
Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
Hi my name is Josh. I'm currently working on my PhD in Philosophy. I'm intelligent, interesting and a pretty nice guy. I love music and enjoy going to live shows. I enjoy intelligent conversations with interesting people. I like art, museums, and a good movie or play. But, I also really enjoy the outdoors and hiking. Of course, I can't forget to mention my dog Rocky! He's an incredibly cute Shih-tzu. He probably gets more attention from females than I do. haha

I love traveling and new experiences. I've lived in London and
traveled around Europe. I've swum with sea turtles in Hawaii. The best experiences in life are those transcendental moments when one is living fully in the moment and completely experiencing life. I'm looking for someone to share those experiences with me. A lot of people don't really live life to the fullest and don't really enjoy thinking any more than they have to. These people tend to bore me.

I'm not on here because I can't get a date. I'm attractive and I
don't have any problem getting numbers when I'm out. The fact is I'm pretty busy and don't have time to go out that much anyway. But, when I do I'd like it to be with someone interesting, whose company I will enjoy. I'm tired of settling for the best that fortune happens to throw my way. As far as what I'm looking for. It really depends on what's out there. I'd certainly like to find an amazing love of my life. Who wouldn't? But, that's probably expecting too much from an internet dating site. I'd be happy with someone who I can have a good time with on a regular basis. I'm certainly open to a relationship, if I meet the right person.

If you are tired of the same old idiots, assholes, and boring guys that populate the world and are especially prevalent on these dating sites, then maybe we're kindred spirits. I'm not a typical guy. In fact I'm pretty damn awesome. It's probably worth the effort to get to know me. I guess there's only one way to find out.
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
I'm currently getting a PhD in Philosophy. So, that and teaching take up most of my time. Besides that I just try to live my life to the fullest and enjoy all the fun things L.A. has to offer.
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
A lot of things. haha I'm good at thinking logically, but still being creative and passionate about life. I'm good at remaining standing and relatively coherent after consuming a good deal of alcohol. I'm good at keeping my cool. I'm good at writing, at least, when it is not an online profile.
The first things people usually notice about me
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
Since I grew the mustache it has undoubtedly been the first thing people notice about me. I get spontaneous compliments on how awesome my mustache is on a daily basis. Strangers both male and female stop me on the street and start conversations about it. I'm not making that up. The moral of the story is my mustache is awesome and if you're into that sort of thing you should probably date me. haha

The six things I could never do without
Think outside the box. Sometimes the little things can say a lot.
This section seems pretty lame. Everyone always has the same things and it doesn't really seem to tell you much about them. I'm going to use this section to tell you that my personality type is INTP. It seems to be a fairly accurate description of what I'm like. Though I can be more extroverted when I feel like it.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Global warming, lunch, or your next vacation… it’s all fair game.
Don't get me started. haha The meaning of life, the absurdity of the human condition, social justice, how one justifies the authority of governments, especially in a society full of glaring social/economic inequalities, all those deep philosophical questions. And lots of not so deep things I find interesting and/or distracting. And of course very elaborate plans for all sorts of weird hypothetical situations, such as what I would do in the event of a Zombie Outbreak.
On a typical Friday night I am
Netflix and takeout, or getting your party on — how do you let loose?
Who knows? Hopefully somewhere fun! A live music show would be nice or the new cool local bar that opened up a half block from my house! Too often studying. :(
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
My dry sarcastic sense of humor often gets me in trouble. And I was recently told by a date that I'm not nearly as arrogant as my OKC profile makes me appear. haha

Offer a few tips to help matches win you over.
You are interesting. You like to think. You are attractive. You want to have a real interaction with a fellow human being. I don't like dates that feel like quasi-interviews. Hopefully we can actually have a fun time.

Definitely message me if you're the magical mystery kind and these lyrics describe you.
"She got jumper cable lips
She got sunset on her breath now
I inhaled just a little bit
Now I've got no fear of death now"
