I am geeky, interesting, and a princess.

My Self-Summary

WARNING:
Much of my profile is still unfinished and vague. Give it time. Plus, I'm always adding.

INTRODUCTION:
To start off, my name is Phoebe; it's my middle name. My first name is Lylian, but I get tired of people calling me Lily -- sounds too cute. I have just turned 18.

My interests are spread throughout my profile, so be looking for them. (I'll tag them when I get a chance.) Just to give a brief overview of them: I'm an all over geek, which is a lot of fun. I'm into the usual: anime, gaming, sci-fi, literature, politics, internet, technology, history, costume and fashion design, and much more

WHAT I AM AND AM NOT LOOKING FOR:
Some very easy to spot deal-breakers are smokers, someone currently using any drugs, heavy drinkers, and criminals. I strongly prefer under 25 years of age and no kids. I love kids and I can't wait to be a mother, but I don't think I could handle the responsibility right now. I don't want a man joining or in the military. I don't think I could handle the stress of worrying about him. Other than that, just don't be a moron. I'd rather not have someone with a whole lot of baggage or consistency issues. (Have enough of my own, thanks.) However, normal college/struggling for an independent lifestyle inconsistencies are exempt from that. Politically, I like liberals. Sorry, it's a requirement, especially when it comes to human rights (gay marriage, gender equality, health care, etc.) Religiously, I'm pretty tolerant and accepting as long as it's not pushed upon me nor is clear to be your only driving force for your life/decisions. Ethnically, there is no issue. Honestly, I almost prefer a non-white ethnic origin. Last thing would probably be distance; if you live more than 100 miles away, that can be very difficult.

Other traits I dislike about guys would be arrogance, pretension, narcissism, indecisiveness, and more. I do love a guy who's charming, intelligent, social, impulsive (in a tactful and classy way), witty, humorous, alternative in interests, geeky or with geek tendencies, and not easy to stereotype.

Physically, surprisingly, I'm a bit picky. I want a guy to be taller than me, and really tall is a plus. In other words, even when I wear heels (which is often), I still want to be shorter. Also, I'd much rather a guy be in shape. It's a health issue for me as well as an attraction issue. A big thing, too, is hygiene. Please, don't smell, take care of your hair and teeth, wash your clothes, and pretend you have some respect for yourself and the people who are seen with you. Other than that, my favorite thing about a guy's body is probably his arms. I love big, strong, well toned arms. (The better to grab me with, my dear.) Also, nice hair is pretty sexy. Short hair can be boring -- no fun to grab.

This is all subject to change, of course, and I doubt I'll connect with someone who is EXACTLY what I say I want. That's why the mystery of finding someone is so fun.

CONCLUSION:
There's a lot about me you won't know straight off and they I don't feel entirely comfortable talking about until I get to know you a bit more. I will say, however, that there are some fundamental things about me which, more often than not, turn men off. Please, see the "You should message me if" section if you wish to contact me.

What I’m doing with my life

I'm currently in Tennessee finishing my first semester of my Senior year in high school. In late December I will be moving down to Tallahassee, Florida, to stay with a friend of mine. I'll be finishing my Senior year through a virtual school program to free up time for a part-time job and finishing my portfolio for a design institute.

As you can probably guess, I plan to go into fashion and costume design, getting my BFA at an NYC college (Parsons, Columbia, FIT). First, I want to finish my first year of college somewhere cheap and close by -- probably FSU -- to get my required credits out of the way and save money.

I’m really good at

I'm an incredible seamstress, if I do say so myself. I actually got into sewing and costume design through attending an anime convention in Nashville, TN. Since then, I've made several innovative costumes and spend a lot of time improving. I also do fashion pieces as well. Right now, however, I'm having to take a bit of time off on that due to lack of materials and money. I hope I can make up for lost time in January.

More to come . . .

The first things people usually notice about me

My fashion sense tends to be unique and thoughtful, and people notice. What I seem to get the most comments on are my heels which range in type and style. However, I do like some nice flats every once in a while, but I doubt you'll ever find me in sneakers unless I'm hiking or running.

More to come . . .

My favorite books, movies, music, and food

I will add to these lists as I see fit. They're still short.

BOOKS:
An amount too vast to list, but I'll try anyway.
In alphabetical order: A Tree Grows in Brooklyn, The Book Thief, Lolita, The Perks of Being a Wallflower, and many more.

MOVIES:
I like a lot of foreign films, films about magic and/or the supernatural, anime films, films that capture tragedy beautifully, and some films that are just so bad they're good.
Alphabetical order: A Walk to Remember, The Craft, The Girl Who Leapt Through Time, My Neighbor Totoro, Paprika, Practical Magic, Rocky Horror Picture Show, Sunset Boulevard, and many more.

TV/ANIME:
Like I said, I enjoy the geeky shows.
Alphabetical order: Azumanga Daioh, Doctor Who, Firefly, Flight of the Concords, Kyou Kara Maou, Neon Genesis Evangelion, Sailor Moon, and many more.

GAMES:
I'm mostly into RPGs and games with creative and consistent storylines. I usually steer away from FPS.
(List to come . . .)

MORE TO COME . . .

I spend a lot of time thinking about

I try to be self-conscious of myself as a method of improving. This ranges from correcting myself in language (i.e. "anyway" instead of "anyways" which hasn't been a problem for years, "for" instead of "fer" which I can blame TN fer, etc.) to correcting my posture and/or habits (i.e. dining etiquette, bending with my knees, etc.) I also try to be conscious of others in order to find the appropriate way to interact and keep from stepping on toes. This also proves useful in knowing when to be helpful and when to step back.

More to come . . .

You should message me if

If you are not confident that you fit the prescription of what I seek, there is no point in going any further. I'm very unique in what I want and unwilling to waste my time, so don't be offended if I decline to reply to you.

I am not looking so much for friends -- more of a companion. I don't tend to reply to "winks" unless your profile interests me. (Don't judge me as a hypocrite if I "wink" you; I often lack the time and attention span to create a thoughtful message and prefer to let my profile speak for me.) Also, I don't log in as often as I'd like, and it seems I get a high volume of messages, so it might take a little while for me to reply.

I WILL STOP RESPONDING IF I FEEL IT IS APPROPRIATE.
