My self-summary
Hmmm.. where to start, My name is Rachel, I should say this upfront; I am looking to settle down. I am looking for that guy who wants the same things I do, kids, a home, a shared life.
Audrey Hepburn once said "I love people who make me laugh. I honestly think it's the thing I like most, to laugh. It cures a multitude of ills. It's probably the most important thing in a person."I completely agree with this quote.

Here are a few random facts:

I have three tattoos & plan on getting more. Two of them are memorials for departed loved ones, I have a paw print on the inside of my left wrist & a rather cryptic tattoo on my left shoulder for my dad (there is a photo of it here on my profile.). I also have the mirror of Erised from Harry Potter on my right thigh, this is a tattoo that I share with my aunt & cousins. I believe my tattoos express an intrinsic part of who i am & what is important to me.

I guess I should explain my screen name. I was a double major in photography & communications in college. I had planned to go to grad school for photojournalism but I got derailed when I started substitute teaching. I realized my place was in the classroom with kids & I have never looked back. I still love photography & try to get out with my camera every so often.

I am not here looking for anonymous sex or a one-night stand. Please respect this.

I am also trying to get some kinks ironed out so I can go to graduate school to teach elementary school art.

I've discovered that I can learn how to do things by doing them wrong (it's that whole 'we learn from our mistakes' deal.) I learned how to sew by learning what NOT to do, I taught myself how to quilt & I want to learn how to do home canning, I made a huge batch of blackberry-peach jam to give my friends for Christmas & it turned out pretty well so I may be on to something here.

I am originally from Michigan & I am very proud of where I come from so if you refer to Michigan as "the state up north" odds are we won't get along.

Please send me more than a "Hi" or "How are you." Please send a paragraph or a few sentences at least.

I know I will sound like a bitch here; but please use correct punctuation & grammar when messaging me. I do judge you poorly when you don't. In these days of spell check & auto-correct, to not use them is just lazy.

A recent conversation I had has made me realize that respect in this kind of a forum is hard to find. PLEASE understand that I am a respectful person & ask the same in return. If you would not speak to your mother with a certain attitude, please do not expect me to respond well to the same attitude.
