I am quirkish, quippy, and ...qlever?.

My Self-Summary

Think I'm a fun guy and like to do and learn interesting new things, though this can be hampered by my total inability to remember landmarks or know which direction I'm facing. Without GPS I'm totally useless.

My quip is legendary and I would have made for an ideal superhero in Mystery Men. I don't know how verbal abuse could be used to solve crime, but there you go.

The way I treat money is a bit strange. I spend like crazy but can be an absolute spendthrift, too.

Good thing there's a character limit, can be a bit verbose.

What I’m doing with my life

Professionally, I like what I do and will probably stay in this field for the foreseeable future. Really though, I just don't define myself by my work; I like getting paid and spending but I seriously doubt that at the end I'm going to regret not having worked more hours.

Personally, I just always try new things and learn to do strange stuff. This is pretty much what I "do".

I’m really good at

Well, I've always thought I'm a pretty funny guy and can crack a room up consistently and constantly once the ADD really kicks in; when the ferris wheel starts spinning and the clowns start dancing it all comes out, whether appropriate or not. Guess that's good or bad, depending on how easily offended you are (if you don't think you'd love a movie like Jesus Christ, Vampire Hunter, probably not in the good funny camp).

The first things people usually notice about me

Doubt this is the most flattering thing to say but think I come off kinda surly. Don't get me wrong, I can be but usually it's that I'm intensely focused on something; getting my attention from distance is nigh impossible.

My favorite books, movies, music, and food

Books: Most anything by Frank Herbert, everything by Charlie Huston, Charles Bukowski, or Terry Pratchett, Lovecraft... things like that. I'm a voracious reader and go through phases of what interests me. I do read lit, but name dropping the greats seems so unoriginal, like "love to laugh".

Movies: Too many beloved movies to list. Really, I love the worst movies... that aforementioned Jesus Christ, Vampire Hunter? Got it. If its got monsters and/or blasphemy, probably love it. Anything written or directed by John Hughes, pre-Home Alone.

My taste in movies is quite eclectic and I watch almost anything once it makes it to video. I love Harvey and Marty but also adore Beer League.

Music: Okay, this is where I'll probably lose the rest of you. Nashville Pussy, Kyuss, Michael Viner's Incredible Bongo Band, Fu Manchu, Richard Cheese, Tony Joe White, Tom Waits, Frank Zappa, Soulive, most any "billy" (horror, psycho, rocka), Galactic. Yes, pretty open.

Food: Don't really have what I'd call a favorite, I like to eat most anything and don't get scared by new things. Thinking about giving up bacon, just because the bacon cultists have surpassed wine snobs in obnoxiousness.

The six things I could never do without

There really aren't that many things that I wouldn't consider just walking away from. I love my movies, music, and books so guess:

Zune along with Zune Pass (have you tried this? Amazing!)
PS3
TV, tuner optional
Kindle
DVD carousels for my way too many movies
Blackberry

I spend a lot of time thinking about

The impending zombie apocalypse.

Spend a lot of energy thinking about politics so guess that's the one. I can be... spirited... on the subject. Not that annoying in your face politics guy but I can speak (somewhat) intelligently on most any policy. I'm a libertarian, so chances are there's SOME issue we'll agree on, but usually for different reasons (that includes other libertarians... getting us to agree's like herding cats).

Think the ball-point pen has ruined penmanship.

The green movement is pretty silly.

When did the Pastafarians start acting like the Invisible Pink Unicorn followers, and why?

On a typical Friday night I am

Doing something involving Bourbon. Probably, anyways.

The most private thing I’m willing to admit here

Don't know if I'll ever own another dog, just too hard a loss every six to eight years. Okay, I probably will someday.

You should message me if

If you're kind of silly with a geeky/nerdy thing going.

Honesty's important, but if you say "hey, I'm just being honest" regularly to people you just crushed, probably shouldn't.

I'm a huge sucker for brunettes, even moreso glasses. Frankly, a combination of the two grants an unfair advantage (it's unfair but yes, you should probably message me).
