I'm a professional Game Designer living in San Rafael. I moved to the West Coast about a year ago from Atlanta. I'm a Canadian-born guy who moved from the East coast of the USA who grew up in Bermuda and whos family is British.

I enjoy intellectual conversation. Anything that causes me to look at the world or my own life in a new and interesting way. Something to ponder while I drink my fourth cup of english tea.

I've been called an old soul, which is probably just a nice way to say I'm an old man stuck in a young man's body. I enjoy finding any excuse to wear a vest and cufflinks.

I'm a very odd combination of people. I love dressing fancy, but I can't deny my ridiculous side either. I consider myself a gentleman.

I think a lot of people are on this site to find an exact replica of themselves. I don't think two people need to share every interest in their lives to be a good match. All you have to do is respect that my interests and hobbies are important to me, and I'll do the same for you.

Besides, seeing the world from two different viewpoints makes for much better conversation / debates / arguments!

Oh, and I don't actually have a beard. I just get scruffy and that's when people decide to take pictures of me.

Learning to play the Tenor Saxophone, exploring the amazing sights and sounds in the bay area. Working hard to make video games awesome. I'm sure there are some side art projects that will start to appear as I get acclimated to the area.

I might be really good at design, maybe. I might have a decent artistic eye, and be good at conversation, but that's something you'd have to decide for yourself. I'm pretty decent at understanding the motivations of people on a day to day basis.

Books: Phillip K. Dick, Roger Zelazny, Arthur C. Clarke, Isaac Asimov, Orson Scott Card, Kafka, Frank Herbert, Lovecraft. Joseph Campbell. I'm a mythology nerd too. I love The Oddysey, 1001 nights, etc.

Recently read Light by M. John Harrison. Incredible book. Highly recommended.

A lot of people think me poorly read because I haven't read a lot of American Novelists. I guess I just never prescribed to The American Dream, since I grew up in a different country. It doesn't have the same effect on me.

Music: Miles Davis, Dave Brubeck, Jamiroquai, Kamelot, Dethklok, Powerglove, Al Greene, lots of varied and odd things.

Movies: The Usual Suspects, Se7en, The Prestige, Memento, Ghostbusters, Inception, Spaceballs, The 39 Steps, lots of varied and odd things...again.

Television Shows: Adventure Time, Always Sunny in Philadelphia, Futurama, Arrested Development, The IT Crowd, Spaced, The Young Ones, Harvey Birdman, ATHF, lots of varied and odd things...some more.

Food? I love all food. I love spicy food. Bland food is for bland people.

I don't think there are physical objects I couldn't learn to live without. Maybe. Hopefully I'll never have to find out.

I would say that without a place that provided the opportunity to learn, I would go crazy. Not much of an answer, I know.

Lately I've been thinking about how everyone I've met so far in San Francisco refers to themselves as a foodie. Seriously. Everyone. I'd probably refer to myself as one too. I love food... It's just weird that everyone does it.

Depends on what's going on. Hopefully I'll be spending time with friends out on the town, or maybe watching Star Trek: TNG on Netflix. Or playing some board games with friends. Who knows. I like to try new things. I've been lucky enough to have lots of opportunities to explore the city recently. I'm not terribly outdoorsy, but I do enjoy it. I just need someone special to do it with.

I'm beginning to think this site's matching algorithm is a big fat lie. I've sent bunches of messages to +/-95% matches and not gotten any replies! If I message you and you're not interested, I much prefer a "no thanks" than a silence.

Physically I've noticed I gravitate more towards girls with dark hair and eyes, but I don't think that's a deakbreaker.
