Well, to start, my name is Dillon. I moved to Ottawa in early 2012;
lived in Windsor prior to. Music is a very big part of my life,
both as a hobby and personal aspiration (not as a career though). I
listen to a very diverse selection of music—anything from Black
Metal to Progressive Rock, 80s Hardcore, Post-Punk, Be-Bop Jazz,
Hip-Hop, Alt-Folk, Synth-pop and everything in between. Not only am
I enthusiastic about listening, but I actually am a
multi-instrumentalist. I play drums, guitar, keys, alto sax, and
can sing quite well. I'd love to learn cello and fretless
(electric) bass.
I'm a fan of the outdoors (although I admittedly don't get out of the city enough). On warmer days, I can often be found sleeping under a tree, like Huckleberry Finn. There's just something enchanting about being alone and surrounded by the natural world, otherwise untouched by humanity.
I also have a strong interest in writing. I have a lot of ideas for novels and novellas, short stories. Whether they get written is another story (writer's block is a bitch), and even more so, whether they get published, but I would very much like for them to be. I even write poetry and lyrics every now and again. I guess, overall, artistry is what dominates my personality.
Most recently, I've taken an interest in exercise. I've always been healthy and in fine shape, but I'm genetically inclined to being on the scrawny side, so I've been trying to put on some more muscle mass. I'll admit, it is purely for aesthetics.
I'm very laid back and I'm also very honest, for better or for worse, because I feel that people can connect better when they are willing to reveal anything about themselves, whether as friends or as lovers.
Anyway, I strongly encourage that you message me if you are interested and willing to take the initiative. This "self-summary" garbage doesn't really do me justice in revealing who I am. I'd love to chat with any of you, but I know how the dynamic is on these things, so I'm likely expected to make first contact. I'll do my best with that.
