I am happy, balanced, and not surprised.
My Self-Summary
Owen Gleiberman, Entertainment Weekly: "This one is great -- the
'Must See' guy of the year!"
A. O. Scott, The New York Times: "Intelligent, enthralling and
visually appealing - he does not disappoint."
J. Hoberman, The Village Voice: "An instant classic that truly
stands out in this season's box office of mediocrity."
Roger Ebert: "Love at first sight. I'd hit it, and then I'd hit it
again. And then again."
Summary:
A phenomenal catch worth every penny you've invested in OkCupid.
Easily a "10" on a scale of...your choice. Wine with me. Dine with
me. Have me say witty things to your family and friends.
More: I am educated. I am affectionate. I am awesome. I am not
kidding.
Some more: I am not a pro skydiver. I am not a toaster. I am not a
hamburger. I am not a samurai.
Even more: Atlanta transplant originally from the
mountains of
North Carolina. Fan of the
outdoors and city
life. Attorney by day, person with a soul by night.
Kayaking is on my To Do
list. Already a fan of
fishing,
hiking and
camping.
What I’m doing with my life
I did the undergrad bit at
Brevard College -- a tiny school
close to home in the mountains. I skipped out after that for a
stint in
California. Blah blah blah, law
school,
UC-Berkeley, I am smart. I then
made my triumphant return to the Southeast for work. I've been
doing the attorney thing in Atlanta for a year, but I plan to shift
gears soon to kick off a business with a buddy when the timing is
right.
What else am I doing with my life now? E-dating, of course. Next
up: e-cuddling, e-third base, e-marriage, e-house, e-kids. Can't
wait.
I’m really good at
...freestyle rapping, hopscotch, eating, preventing global warming
and saving babies from danger.....and at everything else.
The first things people usually notice about me
Quite possibly my sense of humor.
My favorite books, movies, music, and food
Let's get serious. Real serious.
Eat: I will eat anything and am not picky at all, but my routine
diet is pretty healthy.
Read: I'm currently reading The Moral Animal - Why We Are the Way
We Are: The New Science of Evolutionary Psychology. I'm interested
in biological explanations for human behavior, and this is a pretty
decent foundational read about the evolutionary development of
human nature, emotions and morals.
Watch: I don't spend a lot of time in front of the screen, but I
tend to really like quirky movies and dark comedies (e.g., Garden
State, I Heart Huckabees, Office Space, Eternal Sunshine of the
Spotless Mind, Royal Tenenbaums, American Beauty...) and awkward TV
shows (Seinfeld, The Office, Curb Your Enthusiasm...).
Listen: I like all genres, really, but some of the more standard
favorites include Bob Marley, Jimi Hendrix, Bob Dylan, The Beatles,
Radiohead, Bon Iver, Bright Eyes, Ben Harper, Death Cab for Cutie,
The Arcade Fire and Jump Little Children.
The six things I could never do without
1) Friends nearby
2) Spending time outdoors
3) Laughter
4) Fishing
5) Something to keep my brain busy
6) Some excitement
I spend a lot of time thinking about
...potatoes. Are you for or against them? Feel free to share your
thoughts.
On a typical Friday night I am
...hanging out with friends getting into whatever activities spark
our interest at the time: grilling out or eating out, watching a
game, meeting at a bar for drinks, throwing a get-together at
someone's house... If I'm not hanging out locally, I've probably
skipped out for a weekend fishing/hiking trip, a visit to family,
or a visit to my hometown.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit here
I haven't had anyone go beyond my comfort zone yet. Do your worst.
You should message me if
...the sky is blue.
