I am creative, conscientious, and somewhat wise.

My Self-Summary

I'm a work in progress. Sometimes I grow as a person by doing bold and daring things. Sometimes I grow through self-reflection, admitting my faults, and living with the understanding of how I will manifest in the future. Can you relate to this?

Are you an intelligent, creative, free-thinker? People who tell me that their religion is superior to all others, without having studied any of the others, come across as idiots to me. Those who produce something creatively will have a more avenues of rapport with me.

I'll try not to annoy too many people with my political views, but some of them may offend a few of you.
"The Majority" by definition does not constitute the highest levels (let's arbitrarily say the top 5%) of being informed, being intelligent and being caring. Therefore, "Majority Rule" easily results in the suppression or retardation of the progress of the best ideas.
The United States is as much a "Plutocracy" as a "Democracy" if not more so. How many people become President without rich friends? How many federal judges and Supreme Court justices get their positions without a system of political favoritism that in part relates to who gave "political campaign contributions" (money/bribes?) to whom? Who do you think gets more justice, those who cannot afford an attorney or those who can hire the best attorneys?

Personally, cooking, gardening, going to parties or making art seem very worthwhile pastimes.

An explanation of my approach to religion that I have for strangers:
Long ago some of our holidays were Pagan holidays. Christianity came, but the natives still wanted to celebrate their holidays. So names like "Cernunnos" were replaced with names like "Jesus," so that the masses would be worshiping something with the right "brand name". With "religious freedom" those who controlled the "Jesus" and related brand names no longer received most of the proceeds from it, and so Hallmark and KMart and others eventually filled in the gap.
I haven't found a passage in the Bible explaining how a chocolate Easter bunny helped Jesus to resurrect. I don't recall "the three wise men" bringing a mystic tree to the manger.
I'd rather wear some white sheets, call myself a druid, and tell those "Johnny-come-lately" groups to get their own holidays. And I have found that by not partaking of the guilt and dreaded obligations associated with some holidays, I enjoy them a lot.
I'm not just a "Druid," I'm also a practicing Buddhist. And I actually have great reverence for things spiritual. "Religion" is sometimes humanity's attempt to "brand name" and "market" what may defy definition. (You could read "The Gospel of Thomas" if you don't believe me...) Spirituality does have an important role in making life full of joy and wonder.

What I’m doing with my life

I'm looking for another grad school program. The last one I entered claimed to encourage people to think outside of the box, be more loving, and embrace higher ethical standards. Unfortunately for me, they were lying to the public about being accredited; unfortunately for them, I found out what they were doing. Apparently I'll be testifying soon.

I’m really good at

I've won admission to three juried art shows for my paintings, which I find ironic because I took three quarters of ceramics and haven't actually had formal training in painting or drawing since my eighth grade year.

Apparently I write decent legal copy, though I'm not even a paralegal. I'll admit that not everyone seems to think that this is to my credit, but I don't really believe that the law is a gateway path to black magic.

I've edited hundreds of digital photographs with Adobe Photoshop. I have enjoyed photography for a very, very long time.

The first things people usually notice about me

I've been told that I have a nice smile and that I smile a lot.

My favorite books, movies, music, and food

As a vegetarian I enjoy more options than most carnivores because I like Indian, Middle Eastern and Asian cuisines.

(partial list!) Movies: Aeon Flux, Flesh Gordon, Harold and Maude, Mulholland Drive, Resident Evil,

(partial list!) Authors: Robert Heinlein, Timothy Leary, Ram Dass, Robert Anton Wilson, Douglas Adams,
If you want very much to get on my good side, make sure that your library has at least a few of the following:
the Teenage Liberation Handbook by Grace Llewellyn,
Don't Shoot the Dog by Karen Pryor,
the Bhagavad Gita,
Boundaries by Anne Katherine,
The Marriage of Heaven and Hell by William Blake,

The six things I could never do without

1. tea
2. toothbrush
3. spirituality
4. liberals
5. libraries
6. art

While I'm at it, I'll also mention that I'm rarely far from the following: shampoo, soap, chocolate, heavy cream, butter, 2-cup Pyrex measuring cup, vinegar, baking soda, sea salt, olive oil, ghee, garlic, ginger, internet access, camera, razor, and low-rise jeans.

I spend a lot of time thinking about

Spirituality has a place of great importance in my life. I advocate thinking for oneself and so differentiate 'spirituality' from 'religion'. Maybe some day humanity will grow past "the battle of the brands" and achieve the essential instead of "confusing the finger pointing at the moon for the moon itself".

Self-reflection helps me to know who I am and what I am doing, which I find useful in the process of deciding my goals.

Creativity goes beyond making art or various sorts of crafts, it facilitates individuation, it facilitates the development of personality.

And of course sex, because we're hard-wired for it and so naturally deserve lots of it.

On a typical Friday night I am

Whatever I'm doing will probably make it a bad idea to call me before noon on Saturday.

The most private thing I’m willing to admit here

I bite. Not too hard, not hard enough to leave marks. But, I bite.

You should probably know that I like cataglottism, because this could be a deal breaker.

I've had sex outdoors and enjoy it.

When faced with STDs or abject stupidity, expect me to suddenly become impotent.

I used to play Dungeons and Dragons.

You should message me if

Message me if you're emotionally mature but in touch with your inner child.

Message me if you like NF types, especially if you are one.

Message me if you're beautiful but mature enough to realize that this doesn't make you "better" than other people.

If all of the others are true, definitely message me if you want me to go on a lost weekend, preferably on some island location, for some decadent sleep-over costume party.
