My self-summary
Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
Hi there,

Welcome to my profile.
I do invite you,
in the hopes that
it will delight you.

I'm an engineer, a geek and a father,
a Whovian, a teacher, and a lover,
a beach bum, a gardener and a hiker.

I'm a thinker, a tinker and a tailor,
a chef, an author and an actor,
a swimmer, a sailor and a cycler.

I believe in science
and I believe in magic.
Equal parts of the perfect romance.

I'm a bit cynical but
a complete romantic.
I find joy in the secular
but also the fantastic.

Jack of many trades,
master of none,
many names might fit me,
but of me there is only one.

... Honestly - I'm just a normal guy. OK, a bit abnormal - but not abbey-normal. I love Art Deco, The Cirque du Soleil, hiking in the woods, and (platonic) cuddling on the couch while watching Doctor Who in black and white, and the new ones too of course.

Yes - I have kids. Two of them - and they are awesome. I'm divorced - let's just say I'm a late bloomer.

Oh yeah, and I love Disney, Pixar and I love to sing...
♫ One day my Prince will come ♫

My mind and my heart are open to all possibilities. I'm looking for my complement. I seek the soul who will allow me to care for them, and who will care for me in return. I'm looking for someone to fall in 'mutual weirdness' with, to coin a phrase.

I know the zen of trimming the Tree, and the love of perpetrating Santa Claus. Would you have a cookie with me?

I feel the energy of the Earth beneath my bare feet. I have walked on the frozen sand on the beach in winter. Will you walk with me?

I seek to share the secret joy of holding hands on the gear-shift lever, and the giddiness of kissing at the stop-light.
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
I'm an engineer working for a well-known maker of jet engines, and I love my job. I'm in one of those odd places part way between IT and Engineering - building computer models and supporting the people who use them. Some days it feels like 'Take a Number' at my desk - but I enjoy helping people. And yes - I can describe how a jet engine works in 5 words.... feel free to ask.

I love movies, books, biking, swimming, camping, going to the beach and generally being out in the sun when ever I don't have to be at work.

I love to sing - and I recently joined the Cincinnati Men's Chorus. I can't tell you how much fun this is!

I also am in love with my Vibram Fivefingers, I wear them whenever I can (sometimes just to make my co-workers do a double-take!).

If I am stuck inside, I like to cook, bake, and work on my indoor garden. I also love to play board-games, some RPGs, and especially Magic the Gathering.

My life is pretty awesome - I have a great job, wonderful kids, a nice home, and great friends. I'm just trying to make some new like-minded friends, and find that special someone to share life with.

Oh yeah - and I just got a new car. I got a Jeep Wrangler - and I'm loving it! :)
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
Making people look twice, think again, and challenge their preconceptions.

Making popcorn the old fashioned way.

I'm really good at thinking my way through a problem, and helping others to do the same. I'm also a good teacher (I teach several classes at work). I was once told I was at least as good as coffee for keeping my class awake and attentive. I like to solve things and fix things, and generally make life easier for people.

I've got a very strong sensuous side. I LOVE cuddling, touching, hugging, holding hands... I'm told I give really good massages as well :)

I'm a good listener. I'm good at taking care of others.

I'm also good at being shy - so if you see I peeked at your profile and think we might hit it off, send me a message!
The first things people usually notice about me
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
My long hair (which I usually keep in a pony-tail), my smile, and that I'm not who you think I am :)

The six things I could never do without
Think outside the box. Sometimes the little things can say a lot.
1. The Love and Companionship of Family & Friends
2. Earth: the solid support beneath my feet
3. Air: The spirit of joy, freedom, the breath in my lungs
4. Fire: Warmth, heat, the spark of life
5. Water: The fluidity of change, also a good way to get clean
6. My sense of Wonder
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Global warming, lunch, or your next vacation… it’s all fair game.
Being connected to myself and my heart. Forgiving myself for all the things I didn't even know I was mad at me for. Exploring my spirit and feeling my connection to the world around me.

Being connected to my friends and family, and doing right by them as best as I can.

Being comfortable in my own skin.

Thinking about life, the universe, and everything. Banishing my rigidly defined areas of doubt and uncertainty.
On a typical Friday night I am
Netflix and takeout, or getting your party on — how do you let loose?
Going for a bike ride or a hike in the park nearby, then kicking back at home after a long week at work, watching a movie or favorite TV show (on DVD or NetFlix, no cable!)... ok, Doctor Who probably :)
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
I've always wanted someone to draw/sketch/paint my picture/portrait. I'm just curious to know what others see in me.
