This is all kind of ridiculous isn't it?

Going to work so that later in life I might go where I wish.

Manipulating duct tape, taking things apart, putting things together, and learning from mistakes.

How tall I am, usually. If I'm drunk, people tend to notice the singing.

You know what's really excellent? Going to a really cavernous public library, something built in the seventies with that quirky old-modern style, and reading Asimov science fiction while listening to eerie electronic, ambient music. The Portal soundtrack is perfect.

Or maybe rushing down a highway, maybe in the Flint Hills, somewhere gorgeous and open in the summer, with all the windows down and something heavy and loud on the radio, with lots of guitar riffs and epic solos that just barely reach your ears over the roar of the wind.

And good folk songs in a decent bar too; the type of place that still serves good food, and not just good drink. Something earthy that mingles with the words and conversations of patrons, but never overpowers them. Just rocking with the ebb and flow of voices; perfect white noise. Good for a few drinks with friends, or maybe reading a Vonnegut novel in a corner booth.

Even better, something fast and loud through a set of good headphones. That makes you jump a bit with every step, that makes you forget that you should be self-conscious. Something that makes you walk like you're going somewhere when you aren't, grinning like an idiot the whole time. Something that'll carry you wherever you want to go... or at least till the song is over. Just a little bit of freedom from yourself.

I can make do with just about anything.

I actually just spend a lot of time thinking, which is for the most part pretty useless and keeps me up at night.

You can't think of a reason why you wouldn't.
