My self-summary
My template and contemplation about relationships includes
laughter, sensuality, capacity for open communication and kindness
as key ingredients in a great friendship.

I'm seeking a partner who likes to laugh, explore intimacy in all ways - intellectual, physical, emotional and spiritual.

I delight in small happinesses and love to be out in nature.
I'm moved by trees, the ocean, watching birds.
I feel that fitness and exercise are elementally important -
I've been a daily runner for 30 years and love the endorphin rush and aroma of night-blooming jasmine that scents the streets I run on.

No need that you be a runner (actually, I prefer running alone :-)
But, it would be great if, in your own way, fitness is part of your life.

It would be great to be with a partner who takes delight in touch, talking, hiking, seeing art, stimulating all the senses.

I like many spectator sports and am an avid NBA and college hoops fan.
I’m really good at
Kissing.
Making puns and double-entendres.
Writing.
Surprising you!
The first things people usually notice about me
My green eyes and curly brown hair.
People have told me that I have a beautiful voice.
(Years ago, I volunteered at 'Recording for the Blind'
and read {aloud} books in English and French.)
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
French Impressionists (Matisse, Monet, Pierre Bonnard,
Camille Pissarro): Pointillists; Fauvists.

I love Andy Goldsworthy's sculptural creations.
I love how he uses Nature as his Muse - haystacks, rocks,
flowing bodies of water.
He has a permanent outdoor installation on Stanford Campus,
next to the Cantor Arts Center, that I like to visit.

Poetry - My favorite living poet is Seamus Heaney (read Heaney's 'Oysters' and 'Clearances'; Robert Pinsky's 'The Figured Wheel';
Galway Kinnell - everything, especially 'Poem of Night'.

Reading - The New Yorker, the NY Times (too bad that Frank Rich departed from the Sunday 'Week in Review'), Oliver Sacks -'Musicophilia', 'California Field Guides to Birds; to Plants',
LouAnn Brizendine - 'The Female Brain'; Stephen Dubner - 'Freakonomics' and 'Turbulent Souls/Choosing My Religion';
Malcolm Gladwell - 'The Tipping Point', 'Blink';
Paul Goldberger - 'Why Architecture Matters';
Bill Simmons -'The Book of Basketball - the NBA According to the Sports Guy'.

Cinema - all the New Wave (Les Nouvelle vague cineastes) directors -
Truffaut ('Jules et Jim'), Godard ('Le Mepris' - with Brigitte Bardot!), Claude Chabrol, Erich Rohmer, the astonishing Robert Bresson ('Mouchette', 'Au Hazard Balthazar');
Hollywood - 'Rainman', 'The Shawshank Redemption' (especially the last long tracking shot), 'The Adventures of Benjamin Button', anything with Cate Blanchett, Dustin Hoffman, Jeanne Moreau.

Music - Ry Cooder; Joan Armatrading; Dylan; Tom Waits;
The Band; classical - Mendelsohn, Chopin, Schubert, Brahms,
Mozart; zydeco and Cajun music; Celtic music - Loreena McKennitt;
Cesaria Evora (sadly, now gone); The Beatles; all Motown - especially, Marvin Gaye and the Shirelles.
The six things I could never do without
Friends and family.
Nature, animals, pristine vistas of natural beauty.
Cinema, art, literature, photography.
Kissing and massage.
Long runs and hot showers.
Expansive conversation and, also, reverence for stillness.
Purple Hydrangea and Hummingbirds.
Dark chocolate :-)

(This is more than 6, but I like to give more than what is asked-for :-)
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I'm very ticklish...
(Curious - that we cannot tickle ourselves :-)
