My self-summary
Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
I'd like to write something that would blow your mind into outer space, but actually, I don't want to paint the picture that I'm full of myself. I have a busy social life, I work hard to make Amsterdam awesome through various initiatives, but I could do better. So advice and insights in the Amsterdam nightlife are immensely appreciated :)

I like cooking, throwing parties, writing (especially when I actually get paid) and screening films to moderately interested audiences.

Ik ben een filmkneus die van zijn hobby zijn werk probeert te maken door te schrijven, films te programmeren en een festival uit de grond te stampen.

I am euro-thrashed, a bit fussy and easily amused
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
Organizing a Festival. And er... looking for fantabulous ideas for articles for my writing career.
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
Cooking elaborate meals for groups of people using some fresh ingredients and whatever was lying in the back of the fridge, writing in all its shapes and forms, singing in shady Asian Karaoke bars, drinking with friends, reading, processing information, joking, doing absolutely nothing. And hanging out at film festivals or cinema's in general.
The first things people usually notice about me
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
Since I've started growing a beard, I bump into a lot of people who say it suits me (it's great camouflage for my not-so prominent chin, I guess). But that's the reaction of people who already know me, so that don't count. Errr, I dunno, you tell me?
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Help your potential matches find common interests.
A: Glamorama, High Fidelity, Crime and Punishment (hated reading it, liked it afterwards), Soms zijn Dingen Mooier als er Mensen Klappen, The Maltese Falcon, Cloud Atlas and basically anything by Bukowski, Bret Easton Ellis and a shitload of other writers.

B: Starship Troopers, Wild At Heart, Audition, Casablanca, Before Sunrise, Suspiria, anything Cronenbergian or Lynch, Faster Pussycat, Kill! Kill!, Survive Style 5 +, Ex-Drummer, anything I manage to screen myself because otherwise I wouldn't be screening it.

C: Buffy The Vampire Slayer, Twin Peaks, True Blood, Dexter, Game of Thrones, Deadwood, The Venture Bros. Wonder Showzen, the Walking Dead, American Horror Story and Adventure Time. And there's so much still out there, I need to get cloned to watch it all.

D: Joy Division, Interpol, Nick Cave, Johnny Cash,
Portishead, Shonen Knife and much more. Mostly Grumpy Old Singer Songwriters, but I'm exploring more and more genres now. For better and for worse, I guess.

E: Lasagna, The New King, Fried Chicken, Ethiopian food, Mashed Potato, Gazpacho (well, just put it in the fridge, let's see how it turns out...), Pasta Carbonara, Risotto, no fish or bell peppers (yuck and allergy, to be precise).
The six things I could never do without
Think outside the box. Sometimes the little things can say a lot.
A plastic heart valve
and Activism
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Global warming, lunch, or your next vacation… it’s all fair game.
How the world possibly will recover from all the crap that we've been putting it through, until I get a headache or become depressed. That's why I try to become a positive force in the world, even if I also know that the cultural/cinema sector in Amsterdam won't necessarily be the key to saving the rainforests or surviving global warming.
On a typical Friday night I am
Netflix and takeout, or getting your party on — how do you let loose?
Last Friday night I crooned Strangers in the Night standing in the basement bar of the best, most hospitable little place in the fair city of Amsterdam, doing Karaoke with my friends, finally ending up in a little shabby yet intimate obscure bar with people who sponsor the European cultural scene. Who went off to dive into the canal, cuz that's just how they roll...
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
I have no idea how to play hard to get, to play games with people or how to behave like a macho. I blame my parents.

Offer a few tips to help matches win you over.
You want to know what's going on in the cultural underground scene in Amsterdam, I'd gladly point you in the right direction. Or you feel like intelligent conversation or an introduction to the Amsterdam Art scene, lemme know...
