I am Bears, Beets, and Battlestar Galactica.

My Self-Summary

I'm an East Coast transplant and a full time college student who's a little over halfway finished earning his BA in Accounting. I used to be a loan processor in the subprime mortgage industry, but we all know what happened there. Now I'm working hard to get the best grades and carve out a new career. Music and film are my passions. I'm the one most people ask when they're trying to think of who the person was that starred with that other guy in that one film. I love to read but when I'm in the middle of a semester, I'm usually not reading much other than my textbooks. Overall, I'm just pretty awesome (and humble, of course).

What I’m doing with my life

I'm attending Cal State Fullerton full time and working part time at a neighborhood grocery store loved by many.

I’m really good at

- Working hard to achieve my goals
- Learning, apparently (4.0 GPA so far)
- Playing guitar (well, at least semi-good)
- Quoting movies
- Melting people's faces with my karaoke prowess

The first things people usually notice about me

My resemblance to Moby, Michael Stipe, or any other famous, thin guy with a shaved head.

My favorite books, movies, music, and food

Music: I enjoy a pretty wide range but most of my favorites tend to come from the indie/alternative/college/punk rock genres. My recent playlist includes Rocket From The Crypt, Julian Casablancas, Neon Indian, Port O'Brien, Monsters Of Folk, The Flaming Lips, Wilco, The Raveonettes, A Place To Bury Strangers, Sonic Youth, Grizzly Bear, Ryan Adams, Radiohead, The Pains Of Being Pure At Heart, The Replacements, Electric Light Orchestra, Sweet, Black Sabbath, and various Yacht Rock.

Comedy: Ok, I'm adding my own category here. I love listening to good stand-up comedy. Some of my favorite comedians include Mitch Hedberg, Patton Oswalt, David Cross, Todd Barry, Zach Galifianakis (before he became a movie star), Daniel Tosh, and Lewis Black.

Films: Recently I've seen Where The Wild Things Are, Zombieland, Big Fan, 500 Days Of Summer, Inglourious Basterds, Away We Go, and Adventureland. Some all time favorites include Over The Edge, Pulp Fiction, Fast Times at Ridgemont High, Office Space, The Big Lebowski, High Fidelity, Anchorman:The Legend of Ron Burgundy, This Is Spinal Tap, etc.

Television: I don't watch much these days but when I do, I'm watching Flight Of The Conchords, The Office, Community, Saturday Night Live, The Daily Show, The Colbert Report, Arrested Development, Curb Your Enthusiasm, Tim and Eric Awesome Show (Great Job!), etc.

Books: Lately I've been reading nothing but college textbooks. The last book I read for fun was I Drink for a Reason by David Cross.

On a typical Friday night I am

Hanging out with friends in various locations, going to concerts, watching movies, checking out live stand-up comedy, studying, sleeping, etc.

The most private thing I’m willing to admit here

I don't take OkCupid (well, online dating in general) seriously. It's a great idea in theory that doesn't always pan out in practice.

You should message me if

- You're a connoisseur of music/film/books/art
- You don't consider yourself to be right-wing
- You're not afraid to have fun and be geeky/nerdy on occasion
- You don't wear sunglasses indoors or at night (unless you're Corey Hart)
- You're aware that Ed Hardy/Affliction gear is a good indicator of douchebaggery
- You know the difference between "your" and "you're"
