My self-summary
Hello! My name is Joe (sometimes nicknamed "The Lonely G-d") and I'm pleased to meet you!

(Tipping my invisible hat)

Currently, I do Politics and writing (and have been doing both in one form or another throughout my life).

In short, trying to change the world through ideas, policies and politics all from the shores of LA. I grew up in Queens, NY during the 70's (thus, when I watched Escape From New York and read "Days of Future Past," -- that was the situ I grew up) From NYC, to DC and now in LA, I am a City kid. Add a love Goth tunes (and clubs) to the mix and you have the person you see today.

...Or in short: The mind of a Politician and the Heart of a Poet (which I wear on my sleeve)
What I’m doing with my life
I am trying to change the world from Los Angeles. I have been elected as a partisan, and I am working at flipping the County through my words and actions.

If my candidates win, I would like to work in DC or Sacramento on staff. If not, political or writing work in the Southland.
I’m really good at
...noticing connections, that in the end, fit.

And trying to read people.
The first things people usually notice about me
...are my eyes.

I have been told they are very intense.

When I was younger, I was told I had an old soul. Maybe that's why the shock of Grey hair started when I was 24.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Books: Think World war Z or John LeCarre. Sci-fi or spies. And if you think John Waters (the director) is right, I have books everywhere.

Movies: the original Star wars series; Mysteries and (monster) Horror; The weird and the unusual. I love John Dies at the End for its humor and Lovecraftian themes as well as Hudson Hawk (yes, I am a fan!) for its peak into 90's silliness and theories on the European Union.

Music: 80's new Wave, Goth, Swing and Electro-swing, Blues, Jazz, some (early, dark) country, and a little bit of everything (up to early Rap not Hip-hop)

Shows; Doctor Who, Prime Ministers Questions, C-Span, All news stations and Comedy central. I also got done geeking out to True Detective.

Food: As a former New Yorker, Pizza and pasta (along with good seafood) goes a long a way. Plus i enjoy going to the 3rd and Fairfax Farmers Market for some Gumbo and Jambalaya.
The six things I could never do without
1) Friends and Family
2) Books
3) A good Pasta dinner (or pizza -- I am from NYC!)
4) Good conversation
5) The desire to succeed
6) Good music to dance to
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Pragmatic Politics [i.e How to get votes] (in Los Angeles), national and International; Policy [getting votes for issues on capitol Hill] Good sci-fi books and movies, Marvel comics and Good Goth clubs.

And when I get bored with those things: Living within the Technological Singularity and the Zombie Apocalypse.

Finally, what if its all about the Hokey-pokey?
On a typical Friday night I am
chilling out -- either doing a Blog post (based on some info released to the press on a Friday Afternoon) or helping promote a campaign. Or finding a Goth club down the Rabbit Hole.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
is well...private. Over coffee or dinner you can discover this. :)
I’m looking for
  • Girls who like guys
  • Ages 25–55
  • Near me
  • Who are single
  • For long-term dating, short-term dating, casual sex
You should message me if
I am looking for someone who can inspire me to do better.

Beyond that, can you carry on a conversation ranging from American philosophical differences on the Economy and foreign policy? And then swing the conversation back to music, restaurants and comics. And dance back again?

If you can, I'll be impressed. If you want to learn some more detail on the subjects above, that's great. (When it comes to teaching Political sides to a Newbie or Independent, I am a straight shooter)

There is the artist within. I love Los Angeles because of the different types of artists; From Stage/TV/Music to painting/drawing etc. I'd be proud to join you in your creative endeavors.

Also, a geek. Being a geek, I enjoy Marvel comics (and Batman!) and Doctor Who.

You are truly open minded. I work in the world of politics but I'm not an ideologue. I am trying to figure for my candidates and Nationals how to win in the LA basin.

Or the Cliff Notes version: If you are one or more these things Artistic, Geek, understands Policy and pragmatic Politics and can be open minded, I am here.

If you want to contact me, answer this riddle:

If you break me, I do not stop working.
If you touch me, I may be snared.
If you lose me, Nothing will matter.
What am I?
