I've lived in SF for 14 years. I have a large, beautiful (and crazy!) community of friends in the Bay Area, and I'm here because I'm looking to branch out and date outside my circle.

I'm a sucker for a man who can write. I am not looking for someone who matches me perfectly according to the OKC algorithm, but someone who can make me laugh and help me appreciate the world in new ways.

I have always wanted kids, but I'm realistic about the timing given my age. Finding the right partner is more important to me than having a child right now.

An enthusiastic connector of people, I have more good friends than is reasonably sustainable.

I have run for public office and genuinely enjoyed it. (I know! Right? Weird).

I am working on a mobile app startup while maintaining a solo law practice and not getting much sleep, but still finding time to exercise five times a week.

I've been to Burning Man enough times to realize that the world doesn't revolve around it. And I'll probably go again this year.

For much of the last decade, I've been acquiring stuff I don't need, and I've recently started to reverse that trend. Feels sooooo good.

Throwing dinner parties, getting friends out of legal trouble, wasting time on Facebook, raising money, dressing myself and my friends in silly costumes, laughing at myself, calculating risks, bluffing in Scrabble, public speaking, spelling and syntax.

I'm really bad at: working indoors when it's sunny outside, appreciating professional sports, remembering directions, tennis.

Nonfiction writers and comedians can hold my attention through the end of a book. So it makes sense that my favorite movies are documentaries and quirky comedies. I love discovering new music in many different genres... though I am usually listening to Pandora's electronica channels, or the Space Cowboys' RIPEcast.

I gave up cable TV about a year ago. It's been an interesting experiment for someone who consumes news as much as I do.

I love love love to cook and to be cooked for, it can be a lovely intimate experience. While I usually prefer healthy and fresh, I like just about every kind of cuisine and discovering new ethnic restaurants in the Bay Area. My favorite Ethiopian restaurant in SF closed. Boo. Seeking recommendations for a new one.

Never? Hmm. My elderly beagle; my newest pair of running shoes; the Sunday NY Times; my wild, creative, messy, beautiful community; my super awesome 1-year-old nephew; and my motorcycle helmet, which saved my life more than once.
