Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
Hi there! My name is Malena, but I also answer to 'Mel', 'Mellie',
or 'Hey You With the Face'. Political Aficionado of a liberal
I was raised in California, but after two and a half years feel
like a Seattle-ite at heart. Baseball is my sport of choice,
although don't ask me to play. Tidal waves come, small children
cry, Bush's get elected to office and Fire Nations attack when I
play sports .
I fall into the ISTJ variety of personality, if that means anything
I have a tendency to gather new hobbies and interests like crazy.
Because of this I know about a lot of topics. Sadly, most of my
friends have interest in only very few of these topics....Sigh...no
one seems to share my passion for the last 3 generations of the
Russian royal family or the nuances of late-1990's era
I live by the philosophy that family is who you decide it is. Mine
primarily consists of various friends I have made during my time in
the PNW, and my two little sisters, one of whom is the kid in
several of my pictures on here. My sisters are, quite frankly, the
motivation for most of my better life choices. They need to have
someone to look up to ;D
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
I'm currently taking a break from the intensity of 4
year-Universities, fulfilling the last of my general ed at a local
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
I am one heck of a debater, and cooking comes very naturally for
me. I've also been told I'm funny, but I think it's because I don't
much filter my thoughts.
Oh, and I'm advancing pretty quickly through League of Legends...
The first things people usually notice about me
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
My wit can be cutting but I try my best to never be intentionally
unkind. I tend to keep my actual social circle small, and like to
look after my friends. Loyalty is something that is very important

Oddly enough I'm actually in the process of re-reading some of my
favorite books from childhood. The Great Gilly Hopkins, Great
Expectations, pretty much anything along the lines of historical
fiction. Oh, and I just started reading my first Dan Brown novel,
Inferno. I greatly dislike Shakespeare. Only exception is 'A
Midsummer Night's Dream'.
As for TV, I am an avid fan of Once Upon a Time, Two Broke Girls,
Grey's Anatomy, The Big Bang Theory and 90% of MSNBC Political
Commentary shows (love Rachel Maddow, but Chris Matthews and Joe
Scarbough can burn in hell). I have a few more that I am ashamed
of. I can't help it, I can't quite watching until I figure out how
it's possible to survive that much stupid.
My musical tastes are highly eclectic, with my iPod filled with
everything from showtunes to country western to 90's rap music to
the occasional pop song or romantic ballad. But no Dubstep or
Techno. I just can't.
Movies are a pleasure I partake in whenever possible. I don't
particularly enjoy RomComs, but they aren't all bad.. I love, let
me repeat, LOVE horror movies, even though I tend to be a little
paranoid about windows and showers for a few hours after watching
them. The adrenaline rush is addicting. I also have a few movies
I'm attached to from childhood, like Austin Powers and Wayne's
World. I also reeeeeeeally like movies with subtitles. Especially
if it's a language I don't know a single word of.
Whilst I love video games, I have yet to figure out a way to play
for more than 2 hours without getting motion sickness.
In my opinion, cooking isn't a hobby, nay, even an art form, it is
a way of life. So, I guess you could say I take it pretty
seriously. I love cooking. I've been told I'm pretty good at it,
too. Name a recipe, and if I don't already know how to make it,
generally, I'll learn how. Except anything involving Brussels
Sprouts. Those are the embodiment of pure satanic evil.
The six things I could never do without
Think outside the box. Sometimes the little things can say a lot.

I spend a lot of time thinking about
Global warming, lunch, or your next vacation… it’s all fair game.
Everything. And worrying too. Worrying is my strongest natural
talent. However, most of the time I just think about how much
better my country would be if they would just give me absolute
control of the government already.
On a typical Friday night I am
Netflix and takeout, or getting your party on — how do you let loose?
Sleeping. Working retail is emotionally exhausting for me, so I
usually get home an knock out. Otherwise I will more than likely
get talked into going to a club with a friend.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
I don't like my birthday. I usually get sick around my birthday,
and it was always disappointing when I was younger, even when I
wasn't sick, so I just don't really enjoy it anymore.
Oh, and I'm not so great with people I don't know, unless I'm at
work. I get kind of nervous and chatter on. Once I'm comfortable,
I'm golden, but past experience has left me a little inexperienced
with people my own age.
