I’m definitely a huge dork. I love all things fantasy and Wheel of Time is my absolute favorite book series. I also love Star Trek and the feeling of wonder that comes when thinking about space and the universe and our future in it.
I’m pretty quiet and generically happy when I first meet people or am at a new place, though once I feel more comfortable I get really loud really quickly. I love listening to people talk and while I try to contribute to conversations I’m much happier just absorbing new information. I really enjoy learning and I spend way too much time on Wikipedia. I’ll think to myself ‘just one more link that’s it’ and three hours later I’ve navigated from Britney Spears to an 18th Century battle.
What I’m doing with my life
I just transitioned from working in construction to working as a roadway designer, which was a very exciting move. I love creating and being able to do so as a job is amazing.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
I love the Wheel of Time series and anything by Brandon Sanderson. I like mostly fantasy but I do branch out into speculative fiction and romance
I don't really have a favorite show right now, but I have been rewatching Star Trek: The Next Generation and it's amazing. I also like Psych, Supernatural, Daredevil, Agent Carter, House of Cards, How I Met Your Mother, Friends, Doctor Who, Game of Thrones, Newsroom, and Sherlock.
I love superhero movies, with pretty much everything Marvel topping that list. My favorite movie right now is probably Avengers. I also like romantic comedies and action thrillers. Disney is also amazing and my favorite is Mulan followed by Beauty and the Beast as a close second.
As for music: Purity Ring, Florence and the Machine, Coldplay, OneRepublic, movie soundtracks, 30 Seconds to Mars, Dave Matthews Band, Disney, Eminem, Goo Goo Dolls, Imagine Dragons, video game soundtracks, Postal Service, Lifehouse, Of Monsters and Men.
The six things I could never do without
My Cat - 90% of the pictures in my phone are of my cat :D :D :D
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Politics, whichever book I'm currently reading. How from the start
of the universe leading all the way to me there is a chain of
improbable events that led to the creation of everything I've ever
known and will know. How we are all so insignificant yet so
On a typical Friday night I am
Playing European board games like Settlers of Catan and Agricola.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I probably spend too much time playing World of Warcraft
You should message me if
You think we would get along! I'm always looking to meet new
people, especially if I get to drag them into board gaming :D
