My self-summary
Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
Sand blows through the broken archways of the ruined temple. The distant sounds of children's laughter float over the ruins, and snakes coil themselves in the shadows of fallen columns...

An Indiana Jones movie? Nope.... my childhood, in a nutshell.

I grew up in a Mediterranean town, playing among Roman ruins and a buried ancient Greek city. I came to the States twelve years ago for the whole Ivy League PhD experience, and I fell in love with my new home. I've made some awesome friends over here, got a great job at an investment bank, and as an adventurous fun geek.....
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
I am a risk manager for an investment bank. I love it, but there are times when I consider opening an exotic animal shelter. If I could spend my days playing with rescued chimps and tending wounded tigers, I would be the happiest man on earth.

I don't have enough time for all of my hobbies, though. Surfing, hiking, running, restaurant-hopping, watching foreign films. I go sailing with buddies at least once a week, and I head out for longer trips with them every few months. I've got my diving certification, so warm reefs and old shipwrecks are a definite priority. I started skiing a little while ago, and love it. I recently "tried" rollerblading and discovered it's harder than it looks. The doctor said I didn't break anything, though, and I should stop limping in a week or two.

And whatever I do, I usually have a camera with me. Photography is a big part of my life, whether I'm shooting a friend's wedding or just taking pictures of my family when we're hanging out together.
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
Making a mean omelette.
The first things people usually notice about me

I've lived in the U.S. for twelve years, but I still have a little bit of an accent. I like making people guess where I'm from. I've heard France, Russia, and Canada...
The six things I could never do without
Think outside the box. Sometimes the little things can say a lot.
Close friends. Family. Belly laughs. My Pandora stations..... I have one for every possible occasion. Music that I can dance to (and I can dance to almost anything). A camera. Animals. Google maps... I have a terrible sense of direction, and I still sometimes walk a couple blocks in the wrong direction off the subway.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Global warming, lunch, or your next vacation… it’s all fair game.
The mysteries of the universe, like who are cabbies always shouting at on their Bluetooths?

And my family. They are hilarious, affectionate and gigantic.
On a typical Friday night I am
Netflix and takeout, or getting your party on — how do you let loose?
After meeting up with old friends for few rounds of pool and a really good Italian dinner (don't talk to me about Olive Garden), I like to dance off those calories if possible ;)
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
Once, on a dare, I entered a pizza-eating contest at a Pizza Hut. I started blacking out after my sixteenth slice. It was a long time before I could even look at pizza again.

Offer a few tips to help matches win you over.
You’re smart, kind, and confident. I like women who can laugh at themselves, at the world, and at me when I spill something while telling a story with big hand gestures (this happens enough that my friends have started joking about it). I find optimism and adventure really sexy, so if you’re the type of girl who says yes to surfing at Rockaway on a moment's notice and then follow it up with a French romantic comedy, we'll get along great. Sound like you? Send me a message and let's chat...

On the other hand, if you are the type that times her text messages, are into games, or find yourself strangley attracted to mysterious guys, I am probably not your guy... I like being open, direct, and affectionate.

So shoot me a message and tell me about your favorite TED Talk...
