I am Vivacious, Voracious, and Verbose.

My Self-Summary

I'm am overly spontaneous and easily distract...BUNNIES! Where was I? Oh yeah. I'm a smart ass. I think this is left over from being a 'little brother' for so many years, I have to chime in. I just like making people laugh, at me, at themselves, at others...I don't care. I believe that laughter is the best medicine...well...laughter and Morphine.

I LOVE to cook. I love to eat too but, cooking is awesome. I started baking a few years ago so I still do a lot of that. I have been on a perpetual health kick since high school and so I started baking healthy. That inspired my business. A business that is now defunct but, I still love to try out new recipes.

I am also a huge wine lover. I wouldn't call myself a snob because I like more wines than not but, there are those that are just divine.

I fancy myself a comedian first and a philosopher second. I have also been called a nerd. Which is fair. I DO have the "holy trilogy" memorized. I love my computer but, I am not nearly as attached to it as I used to be. Growing up I was a drama geek then a computer nerd. So, now I love science and Broadway. Go figure.

I find everything fascinating. There are times I find myself overwhelmed with things to study.

Waste of any kind infuriates me. (Why don't people turn off the water when they brush their teeth?)

As far as dating goes, my only real requirements are intelligence, a concern for one's health and a sense of moral responsibility. Disdain for neo-cons, the religious right and/or the "moral" majority in this country is also a prerequisite. While I don't insist on perfection, I do require someone who is AWARE of her health and at least thinks about it.
Also....laugh at all my jokes. IS THAT SO MUCH TO ASK?

I would like someone that not only likes, but is passionate about one or more of the following films: So, I Married an Axe Murderer, Ferris Bueller's Day Off, Star Wars, Ghostbusters, Labyrinth or The Princess Bride. I feel this sets a standard for the artistic appreciation and general silliness of a person.

I would love to find someone with an open mind who, like me, will try anything once. Someone who loves experience; and appreciates the little things, a woman with a passion for life's experiences that would maybe sweep ME off my feet. Oh yeah, and someone who could takes the lead every once in a while. Making all the decisions gets old fast. Not that I won't do it if I'm inspired by the woman. I, like so many other romantics, LOVE to create dates that are like adventures.

I am unreasonably attracted to women who talk with their hands.

What I’m doing with my life

Right now I work as an emergency nurse in a local ED. I love nursing and I will continue my education as soon as I get this down.

Besides all that, I am interested in most things. I want to go everywhere and try everything before I die. That's possible right?

On a day to day basis I am usually working but, occasionally I eat out, see shows or movies, I work out, I'm a political junkie, I also enjoy reading about technology, medicine, philosophy, religion, psychology etc...

I’m really good at

I am very adept at making people laugh when they believe they shouldn't. Inappropriate and poorly timed comedy is quite possibly my greatest asset.

I also talk a lot when I should shut the hell up. So, by all means tell me so should the time come. (See "truthful to a fault" above)

The first things people usually notice about me

Most likely my height and girth, I'm a large man. Unfortunately, I am huge wuss. Fortunately, I can run. Luckily, I am also adept at PRETENDING to be tough. This has helped me more than anything.

My favorite books, movies, music, and food

Favorite Books: Love in the Time of Cholera, Tao Te Ching, Metamorphoses, Slaughterhouse Five, Sugar Busters, The Sun Also Rises, America the Book, The Aeneid, The Tao of Pooh and The Varieties of Religious Experience. I am also a big fan of Richard Dawkins and David Sedaris.

Favorite TV Shows: Flight of the Conchords, Firefly,The Daily Show, The Colbert Report, oldSimpsons, Family Guy, American Dad, Scrubs and THE OFFICE.

Favorite Movies: V for Vendetta, Talladega Nights, Ferris Bueller's Day Off, Fletch, Reservoir Dogs, Super Troopers, Office Space, So I Married an Axe Murderer, Happy Gilmore, Braveheart, Star Wars and Lord of the Rings trilogies (Nerd alert!) and of course The Boondock Saints. A laundry list of more films I love is available on request.

Favorite Music: THE KILLERS, U2, Frank Sinatra, David Bowie, Elton John, Stone Temple Pilots, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Jeffrey Gaines, Flobots, Tenacious D, Green Day, Social Distortion, Bad Religion, and the 80's in general.

Favorite Food: Most is good. I don't think I will ever get over my love affair with Pizza though. It's that food that I will eat in almost any situation regardless of the toppings or indeed my state of health. Pumpkin pie is a very close second. I can eat pumpkin pie until there is no more pie. God bless that pie.

Other Interests: Wine, Cooking, Indian Food, Italian Food, Mexican Food, Any Food, All Food, Religion, New York, Broadway, Classic Simpsons, Tucson when it rains, GARLIC, Innocent Flirtation, Silly People, General silliness, Film, Tennis, Racquetball, Fitness and Nutrition.

The six things I could never do without

Wine, coffee, and chocolate (They're all related right?)

People

Rain

Literature

Exercise

Spontaneity

I spend a lot of time thinking about

Space-time, health care, genetics, holistic medicine, climate change, government, capitalism and America's influence on the rest of the world, and other things too that aren't so depressing.

On a typical Friday night I am

Reading, be it a book, RSS feeds, directions to something, Wikipedia or emails...typically while sipping on wine (I'm a drunk, I know). I do go out, just not on Friday. I like Mondays for Karaoke and/or 80's night. Films are also a common pastime.

The most private thing I’m willing to admit here

I am missing a toenail. Guess which one!
