I'm always up for trying or learning new things. Whether or not I
like doing something normally, I'll have fun if I like the people
I'm with and I won't if I don't. I make a lot of mistakes, but I'm
fine with it as long as I only make each one once. I like to watch
TV or movies, preferably with friends (for more specifics, see that
section!), I go to bars a little too often for my own good, I
exercise a lot (possibly to work off the booze), and I'm pretty
fond of coffee. And if someone has a passion, I love hearing about
it, even if it's a subject I know nothing about (as long as the
other person's not annoyed when they have to explain some things).
As my username would suggest, I'm an undergrad going for
pre-physical therapy. Thanks to picking my previous majors for all
the wrong reasons (I'm pretty confident of this one), I've still
got a bit of time left. And then there's grad school. I'm going to
be a student for a while.
I'm planning to actually move into the city within the next month.
I need a change of pace and I need to be closer to school.
I tried to sign up too late for the '09, but I'm really considering
running in the 2010 Chicago Marathon.
I'll write more on this section when I have more time.
Kicking stuff. I have a black belt in Tae Kwon Do. Not sure how
much of a fighter that makes me, but against stationary targets:
fear my feet. I'm a fairly clever guy and can pick up things
quickly, so I can't think of that many things I'm amazing at, but
there are also very few things I could say I absolutely suck at.
I'm going gray. I don't intend to dye it back, either. Not only am
I used to it by now (been this way since I was 15), the amount of
gray I have just makes it look shiny/sparkly. And I'm tall.
Okay, and apparently everyone in the world has nice eyes. But mine
are blue, bright and not always the same shade as the day before.
So mine really are noteworthy!
Books: Give me any sort of epic poem and I'm happy.
Illiad, Odyssey, Voyage of
Argo. Not sure if Beowulf or the Inferno count as epic poems, but
they're pretty good, too. I like Stephen King's Dark Tower series,
though they're a heavy load to get through. American Psycho. Love
the book, the movie's just okay.
Movies: The only movies I don't like it are the ones that are so
terrible I can't even derive joy from sitting with friends and
ridiculing them. I love a good movie, but when watching with the
right people, a bad movie can be more fun.
TV, even though you didn't ask:
30 Rock, Burn Notice, Royal Pains,
Heroes, House, How I Met Your Mother, Supernatural, The Office,
Doctor Who, The IT Crowd, The Mighty Boosh, Scrubs, old
Simpsons.
Music: Yes, I'm just going through my iTunes and picking the
highlights... Animal Collective, Andrew Bird, Arcade Fire, Avett
Brothers, Decemberists, Flaming Lips, Gogol Bordello, Gram Rabbit,
Iron & Wine, The Mae Shi, Man Man, MGMT, Modest Mouse, Oh no!
Oh My!, Neutral Milk Hotel, Nick Cave,
Of Montreal, Patrick Wolf, Scissor
Sisters, The Unicorns, They Shoot Horses Don't They,
Tom Waits, TV on the
Radio, Wolf Parade.
My friends. My future - and how much of it will be occupied with
school and then paying for school. New things I should learn or do.
At a bar or hanging out with friends. If I'm at a bar, put me by a
pool table and I'll be happy. If I'm with friends - and it's not
some full-scale party, a movie or a deck of cards are all it takes.
I'm usually drinking but I'm rarely getting drunk.
You like my profile. You're interested in having a conversation
with a guy who actually spells words properly. You're interested in
grabbing a drink and seeing if we get along.
Oh. And if you like
Rosencrantz
and Guildenstern Are Dead. Play or movie. Like, don't even
hesitate. Message me immediately.
