My self-summary
Laid back, open minded, and philosophical.
Introverted at first, but very open once comfortable.
I've had a hectic crazy past decade, and only recently settled into a normal functioning lifestyle.
I figure the other profile questions should provide sufficient elaboration.
If not, then feel free to ask me.
What I’m doing with my life
Apprentice residential carpenter waiting for the years of training to amount to a solid salary.
I rent a room in a group house right now. Used to rent my own townhouse, until the landlord decided to sell it. Group housing can be fun if you have chill housemates, which I do. Though I occasionally miss that townhouse.
I spend most of my free time chilling with friends or wasting life on computer games.
However I'm victim to random surges of creativity. Then I get wrapped into my art or my writing or my music.
I’m really good at
Piano, classical mostly. Started lessons 17 years ago, love Chopin and Rachmaninoff

Art, I guess. Not really, compared to my high school contemporaries who stuck with it. I just started fiddling around again the past year or so.

Language, at least the English one. And general communication with said language.

Being awkward. People I know expect or even appreciate my off-beat comments and dark humor. Others can get unsettled by it.

Drinking, I was apparently born with an immense tolerance.
The first things people usually notice about me
When I had long hair it was the hair. Now I'm not sure. Outside of my hair, the most frequent comments from girls have been about my eyes (apparently they're blue), and about being quiet and mysterious. Quiet and mysterious I only ever heard in high school, don't think it's relevant anymore.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Movies: The Big Lebowski, Fight Club, American Beauty, Snatch, Serenity, any Aronofsky film, any Coen brothers film, any Miyazaki film, and a whole lot of others.
Shows: ARCHER, Community, Arrested Development, Colbert Report, Daily Show with Jon Stewart, Firefly, Parks and Rec (Ron Swanson is my spirit guide), Darker than Black.
Music: Too much to list any significant portion- Radiohead, Modest Mouse, Massive Attack, Atmosphere, Aesop Rock, Blind Melon, Gorillaz, Neutral Milk Hotel (Jeff Mangum), Beck, Metric, The Beatles, Rachmaninoff, Chopin, Beethoven, anything. Except what I call "pop-country", and r&b.
Books: The hitchhikers guide to the galaxy (whole series, Douglas Adams), still life with woodpecker (tom robbins), Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas (Hunter S. Thompson), Dune (Frank Herbert), Stranger in a Strange Land (Robert Heinlein), Burning in Water Drowning in Flame (Bukowski, poetry), everything Niel Gaiman, sandman comics and novels.
Food: Everything. Ray's Hellburger makes the best burgers in the world. I worked there. I know. Just can't eat most seafood for some reason. It looks good, it just doesn't match my taste buds.
The six things I could never do without
Um, water, food, air, clothing, shelter, stimulation?
Alright, fine. Friends, Music (both playing and listening to), Metro (I loathe it with a passion but I have no car or insurance and could not function without it), Insomnia (if I went to bed when I should I wouldn't accomplish anything creative), Nature/Beauty/Art (Hell Yeah! All connected), and Money (welcome to real life).
I spend a lot of time thinking about
“Humanity has advanced, when it has advanced, not because it has been sober, responsible, and cautious, but because it has been playful, rebellious, and immature.”

“I believe in nothing, everything is sacred. I believe in everything, nothing is sacred.”

"The price of self-destiny is never cheap, and in certain situations it is unthinkable. But to achieve the marvelous, it is precisely the unthinkable that must be thought."

Why artists and writers can quote my life so much better than I can. And how my landlord can be so courteous and rational while explaining the most irrational and neurotic rules. And how best to ignore said rules.
On a typical Friday night I am
All over the map. Drinking and playing video games or watching tv by myself. Out with friends doing whatever. Maybe craziness, maybe chillin. Drunken chess competitions is a distinct possibility.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
The Gardenhead knows my name. My parents are cultists (seriously). Willing to admit online to everyone on the internet? If I shared anything truly private here it would mean I have nothing truly private.
I’m looking for
  • Girls who like guys
  • Ages 19–34
  • Near me
  • For new friends, long-term dating, short-term dating, activity partners
You should message me if
you recognize that internet interaction is by nature somewhat contrived. If you're willing to forgive that I'm slightly inept at this. If you find anything in this lengthy profile interesting.
