I am bright, creative, and curvy.

My Self-Summary

I am a cat person, a devout feminist and an avid Christian, a coffee connoisseur/snob, I love the Arts in all their varied forms, and am a M*A*S*H fanatic.
I love my family, and my dearest friends are like family. To my partners I am loving and patient. I love to take care those I care about.
Physically, to quote, I'm a "brick house". Or to be more romantic, Rubenesque. See pictures.
I love to have interesting conversations on just about any topic.
I love watching people on the train, and seeing folks in those unguarded moments when they love, laugh, and live without shame or prejudice.
Judgmental and inconsiderate people piss me off.
I would love to see a world without all the oppressive "isms", and I do my best to fight them in any form I find them. I don't always succeed or do the right thing, but I do try. And I try to teach others.
I make it a point to live the principles of Mark 12:30-31a "You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your mind, and with all your strength. . .You shall love your neighbor as yourself.
I've come to the conclusion that I'm someone who needs to be experienced rather than read about, as sometimes I cannot find the words for who I am.

What I’m doing with my life

I'm working for a theatre on the north shore, selling tickets to little old ladies. I love my job.
I'm finishing up my M. Div degree (just a few more classes!), and trying not to go catatonic while writing my thesis in theology. Oh, and avoiding my chaplaincy internship like a politician avoids a straight answer. Once I finish my degree, I want to be ordained in the United Church of Christ, and be a youth minister. I love kids.
Deep down, I'm a teacher and a student. Knowledge, learning and wisdom matter to me.

I’m really good at

Observing human behavior. Using big words. Creative problem-solving. Telling you exactly the cast, season, and episode number of any M*A*S*H episode. Blessing crab legs. Being funny- on accident. Finding the good in almost anything. Randomly referencing theological principals and figures that most people have never heard of.

The first things people usually notice about me

Well, I don't necessarily know what's the first thing people notice about me, but I do know the first things they mention: my smile, my breasts, my ass, my eyes, my walk (apparently, I've got this model walk. I think guys are just impressed I can chase a bus in 4 inch heels). People also make note of my confidence and the fact that I make eye contact. That latter habit has given me quite a bit of grief on the CTA.

My favorite books, movies, music, and food

A Books) Life of Pi, anything by Christopher Moore (my fave is Lamb: The Gospel According Biff), The Harry Potter Series, anything by Mercedes Lackey (whoot to mind candy fantasy novels), the Bible, The Monk Who Sold his Ferrari, Beyond Monotheism, Marion Zimmer Bradley's Avalon books, The Screwtape Letters, Teaching to Transgress, Cats in the Belfry

B Movies) The Boondock Saints, Young Frankenstein, Princess Bride, Love Actually, Good Morning Vietnam, History of the World Part I, Blazing Saddles, Hairspray (the second one), The Blues Brothers, Elizabethtown, The Birdcage, Schindler's List, Little Miss Sunshine, The Commitments, Juno, But I'm a Cheerleader, Dogma, Finding Nemo, The Incredibles

C Music) Go Sailor, The Wreckers, Little Big Town, bluegrass, Dar Williams, KT Tunstall, CSNY, CCR, The Shins, Simon & Garfunkel, Paul Simon, Cat Stevens, Lucky Boys Confusion, Lady Antebellum, Tracy Chapman. Music for me is all about the lyrics and the stories and the metaphors, set to a tune.

D Foods) Whipped Cream (this is a food and a condiment!), coffee, baked goods of any type, Thai food, Indian food, Italian food, Mexican food, anything with cheese or sour cream, good chocolate.

E Television) M*A*S*H, Scrubs, Firefly, Supernatural, Chuck, Bones, Life, My Name is Earl, Lie to Me, Arrested Development, House, Medium, Psych

The six things I could never do without

God, Coffee, Music, Books, Friends, Cats (I'm assuming that food, clothing, and shelter are implied)

I spend a lot of time thinking about

I have theological arguments with my bathroom wall. No, I do not expect it to respond. I think about all things theology. I love people watching and thinking about what their body language and facial expressions reveal. Couples are the most fun to watch. I plan, organize, and detail my day in advance, and then don't do any of it. Then I spend a lot of time thinking about where my day went.

On a typical Friday night I am

I'm usually at work. It's a side effect of being in the theatre. If I miraculously have the night off, then I am either out with friends, or curled up with a good book/movie and food I didn't have to cook myself. If I'm being really good, I'm working on my thesis. I'm rarely being good.

The most private thing I’m willing to admit here

Absolutely nothing. I'm a very private person. And I admitted to having arguments with my bathroom wall. Isn't that enough?

You should message me if

You're intelligent, into the Arts, responsible and spontaneous, liberal, and have a sense of humor. You respect yourself without taking yourself too seriously. If you're a conservative, fundamentalist or a Republican, we might want to avoid topics of politics and religion. If you are of an atheistic bent, then we'll need to agree to disagree right up front and live with that.
I do need to offer some clarification for a few misconceptions I've encountered. One, I am bisexual. Do not stereotype me. Most of you seem to have no idea what that means, and it is NOT a synonym for "nymphomaniac". My sexuality is not for your titillation. Also, not interested threesomes, at all. Please stop asking.
Two, I am Christian, and I am clergy. Yes, I am aware of the contradiction with my aforementioned sexuality. Please do not prejudge me based on this fact, either. You'd be mighty pissed if I did it to you. I'm liberal. I'm a pluralist. I have no intention of judging you or converting you. I would love to have open dialogues and discussions with anybody on the subjects of theology and religion, or anything for that matter.
