I was over-working myself at a job I hated. I got an acting job and quit my day job to go tour with a Children's Theatre Company. Then I was able to find more work in the acting and music profession. I had a healthy balance between a job I don't like, and jobs I LOVE!
After working for 4 years in the Minneapolis/Saint Paul area as an Actor and Salesman, I decided I wanted to go back to school to get more training in acting, voice, speech, and movement. I also wanted to be able to share my passion for acting with others. I want to teach acting someday. That is why I finished my MFA in Acting at the University of Houston.
Now I'm in New York. I work for Whole Foods to pay the rent. I audition like Batman by night. Let's see where that takes me.
I'm an artist. I'm a musician. I'm an actor. I'm a sub-par writer, and an overall creative jack of all trades. Drop me a line if you want to talk. I'd love to listen.
that was the short part, Read on if you like :)
I'm originally from the state of Wisconsin. I lived in the Twin Cities for 4 years. I lived in Texas for 2 years. Now it's New York. I'm adjusting. It's been great so far!
I've worked on and off for a Children's Theatre company in the Twin Cities. They are a great professional company to work with and will always be near and dear to me.
I love traveling everywhere and anywhere.
I'm in the process of getting my motorcycle license. I had it for a year, but I let it lapse...
I read like nobody's business; plays mostly (Sam Shepard and Neil Labute), but philosophy too (I'm a Hegellian), and poetry is amazing as well. (John Updike is a genius). Malcolm Gladwell is pretty amazing too. I loved Blink.
I don't have a lot of friends, but the ones I do have I would give my life for.
I've been acting since I was sixteen and I don't plan on stopping until I'm physically unable to. It is the most rewarding and humbling activity. To be able to tell someone else's story is an honor few receive. I am grateful for it.
I also love making people smile. It's an addiction. Acting and Music allow me to do that too. There is something about live performance that energizes both me and the people watching me. It's a give and take, equal partner, relationship.
I play the guitar, have been since I was three, it's what keeps me sane, it's my musical, melodious, diary.
I'm a blossoming Unitarian-Universalist. I never thought I would find spirituality and I'm still searching, but the UU's encourage me to do so.
I love my family. They continue to amaze me with their love!
Nat King Cole sang it, and my father taught me the song, but the most important thing I've learned so far is:
"The greatest thing, you'll ever learn, is just to love and be loved in return"
I am Musical, Charming, and Nerdy
Movies: Back to the Future, The Wrestler, American Beauty, Garden State, Boondock Saints, The Terminal, One Hour Photo, V for Vendetta, Batman Trilogy, In the Company of Men, Donnie Darko, Closer, Snakes on a Plane, The Children of Men, Phonebooth, Just about any documentary...too many great ones from Netflix instant queue to name.
Music: Dashboard Confessional, The Rocket Summer, Say Anything, Two Tongues, Kevin So, John Mayer, Death Cab for Cutie, Cartel, Lakes, KT Tunstall, Michelle Branch, Hector Villa-Lobos, Mozart, Bach, Brahms, Handel, Britten, Moses Hogan, Leo Brower
Food: Anything but Beets (although I have been tricked into trying and dare I admit liking beets when cooked right and mixed with other foods) and Peas (and I'll eat peas in a salad), but my favorites are Thai Food, any kind of Asian is awesome. I love Pho and Mi. Thank God for Vietnamese soup! I also enjoy trying new foods. I'm really an equal opportunity consumer of sustenance...except beets and peas...unless it's a salad with peas...like seven-layer salad...or tuna salad.
