My self-summary
Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
So I know I can’t encapsulate my entire personality in one paragraph, or even several, but I’m going to give you something to start with. My name is Molly and I am an artist and designer. I am passionate about anything creative or artistic. I love to learn new things and I read books, fiction and non-fiction, for fun. I keep up with current events and consider myself a social liberal. I love intensely and would do anything for the people I care about. I am open with my feelings and like to show affection. I have strong opinions, but I’m always up for a good conversation, even with people I disagree with. I’m not shy and may be too loud or sarcastic sometimes. I’m not religious, but I don’t have any desire to convert anyone. I have three younger siblings and I adore them! I love dogs like family members and will definitely have one someday. My favorite place in the world is a small island off the coast of Maine, and I’m dying to share that with a partner.

I don’t know if I have a type, but I do know that there are things I want in a partner. I want someone who is intelligent and is willing to have a conversation about current events or art or the book they last read. I want someone who isn’t afraid to share their feelings and is physically and emotionally affectionate. I want someone who is passionate about what’s important to them and willing to tell me all about it. I want someone who can make me laugh and turn me on and make me think. I want someone who will encourage me to lead a healthy lifestyle. I know this is specific, but I want someone who had no problem with my sister marrying a woman, or my other sister dating one. I want someone who would love to have a dog, or who would at least tolerate one. I want someone who is honest and won't try to deceive me.

Also, if you can name the artist of the painting behind me, we could probably at least be friends.
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
I consider myself a work in progress. After many difficult years, I am back in school trying to finish the undergraduate degree that I had to leave behind for reasons I will share with you if you want to know. I getting my degree online from Savannah College of Art and Design as part of this great program where you get the same degree as if you were actually on campus. I’m really excited to be back in school and moving forward towards my life as an artist and designer. I feel behind because I’m 30 and still working on college, but I’ve faced some challenges and I am where I am. Other than school, I am focusing on healthy living, something that I have been working on for a while now. I know I need to lose weight, and I am in the process of doing so, so I appreciate not being judged for the fact that I'm overweight. Anyway, right now, I’m considering trying yoga as an alternative to the boring elliptical machine. We’ll see. I also make and sell jewelry, though that has taken a back seat to school.
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
Learning. Being there for someone I love. All sorts of artsy/craftsy things. Seeking out and absorbing random facts. Scrabble. Early in the week NYT crossword puzzles (if you can do Sunday, I think you're awesome).

Books: favorite authors are Kurt Vonnegut (I own every Vonnegut novel/short story collection/autobiography in paperback) and George Orwell. Also, I like non-fiction books about whatever topic I am currently intrigued by. Right now I am reading Lies My Teacher Told Me, which is a great book about all the things American history textbooks get wrong or overlook.

Movies: The Godfather, The Departed, Inception, Star Wars, Back to the Future, Shutter Island, Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, The Royal Tenenbaums, Casino Royale, Pulp Fiction, Zoolander

TV: The Daily Show, The Colbert Report, Mad Men, 30 Rock, Law & Order, House, Downton Abbey, Boardwalk Empire, Homeland, SHERLOCK (my favorite), History/Science/Discovery Channel, Documentaries, PBS News Hour

Music: Queen, The Beatles, Maroon 5, Ben Folds, Elton John, Billy Joel, The Beach Boys, Mozart, Bach, Beethoven, Lady Gaga
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Global warming, lunch, or your next vacation… it’s all fair game.
Life and death, art, music, politics, love, what I'm going to do when I grow up, how Moriarty came back from the dead.
On a typical Friday night I am
Netflix and takeout, or getting your party on — how do you let loose?
Having coffee with friends. Reading. Having dinner at my family's house. Watching The Daily Show on Hulu. Going out on a date. Probably not partying.
