My self-summary
Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
I attempted to leave this section blank but OKCupid demanded disclosure. I've been in a transitional period for the past year or two. I am tempted to label this time "Maturation" but that is contradictory to my belief that we are always maturing, growing, learning or what have you. However, I am certain that what used to be important to me is less so recently. There was a time when fame, expression and making a difference were the penultimate goals of my life. Now I've got a few eye wrinkles, sometimes I groan when I get out of a recliner and strangely I'm overly concerned with health insurance, organic produce, and cable. Something is afoot. Where most of twenties were spent on a variety of stages, as I approach my thirties I find myself spending most my time in a kitchen.
Strangest of all, I'm happier, calmer, and more hopeful than I have ever been.
I'll probably rewrite this whole blurb in a day or two but for now I think this describes me far better than a list of hobbies would.

*It has been at least a month (now a couple of years-8/9/2012) and I'm still standing by these thoughts. I will add this to the fray, I think I'm a lot more fun than my sentences would lead you to believe. Further, I'm also probably a lot less fun than I think I actually am. Grains of salt or something.*

I am smart, cynical, and balding
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
Currently I am drinking too much craft beer for my pocketbook to handle, discussing books at a monthly bookclub, cuddling a chihuahua, trying to go to the gym at least enough to equal the amount of nachos I consume, obsessing over nba basketball, acting in plays when time permits, cleaning things, trying to create new things and also attempting to sneak some time in to figure out just what I can do for pay that will matter to me.
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
running the point in pick up basketball games, talking about religion in bars, RISK, making omelets, telling jokes you grandfather would appreciate, listening, and riding Greyhound buses.
The first things people usually notice about me
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
I don't think people notice me which is okay by me most days. Let me drift free from obstruction and judgment.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food

are too numerous to list. Instead I will use this past week as an example. **8/9/12**updated
Books: Guns, Germs and Steel by Jared Diamond, War with the Newts by Karel Capek, Neal Stephenson's Baroque Cycle, and getting ready to read Mutiny on the Bounty.

TV: The Sopranos, The Newsroom, Game of Thrones, pretty much everything on HBO and they are so good about staggering their series so that I can never cancel the membership. And the Stewart/Colbert hour at 11!

Movies: Not as many as I used to watch. This week I haven't watched any! I used to spend all my free times watching movies and working at movie theaters and video stores. These days I am a little more social, though I would still probably beat you at any movie trivia game.

Food: Breakfast is my thing. Since becoming a lacto/ovo vegetarian I tend to obsess over breakfast/brunch more than I already did. The first and most important meal is my favorite and there is nothing like enjoying Sunday brunch at noon with good company and a cocktail.
The six things I could never do without
Think outside the box. Sometimes the little things can say a lot.

I spend a lot of time thinking about
Global warming, lunch, or your next vacation… it’s all fair game.
The future. The book I am reading at the time. Evolutionary biology. Kindness and its opposite. What I am going to eat next. And why the #29 Tarc line runs only about once an hour.
On a typical Friday night I am
Netflix and takeout, or getting your party on — how do you let loose?
Often working. Less often, but never enough for my tastes, enjoying the company of loved ones. Rarely, but appreciated, I am raising what little hell an INTJ can raise before needing to go home and get under the covers with a book.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
I once suffered a rash due to wiping my ass with poison ivy. I was nine. I didn't want to stop playing...the bathroom was really far away. Leave me alone, it happens more than most would care to admit.
