Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
I moved to the far North Austin area in 2008 from New England (I
split my time between a campground with a small lake in Porter TX -
about 12 miles from Bush Airport in Houston - and a house w private
backyard in Pflugerville / Austin). Starting a new job in the NW
Houston area June 01, 2015.
I do occasionally miss 'the change of seasons' (especially fall
foliage) and often my friends, but, I do not regret my move here. I
frequently miss New England seafood (especially clams and Maine
I am 5' 11 tall and weigh about 200 (could stand to lose 10
pounds). I wear a 44 regular suit (some alteration required).
Chronologically I am the age at the top of the page, but, most who
meet me in person think I look 10 - 15 years younger.
Hardworking (and playing) but I also LOVE relaxing in / on the
water, reading a good novel (especially romance / erotica / "beach
smut"), napping in the sun, and spending time with close friends
and family. Love sailing / anchoring (hopefully you will too).
Would enjoy playing more volleyball (I try to play at least once a
week). I don't have a kayak or paddle-board, but, I do enjoy rowing
(and sailing) my Portland Pudgy dinghy. I enjoy a good sense of
humor and making others laugh (or lighten up after a tough
I like Westerns (movies) and I like to ride (hate the dust) but I
really NEED to be close to the water. I am straight but not the
rugged cowboy type (I like being weird and unique like Austin). I
am sometimes ashamed to admit that I have been a COWBOYS fan since
the 70's. I like being CLOSE to the city but am someone who
"prefers the 'burbs". My vehicle has 4 wheels (yes - a 4 wheel
drive diesel truck with a camper cap - bought it to pull my 22ft
camping trailer with generator). I run only if I have to; would
rather take a long walk. I tested as ISTJ.
Don't enjoy being with others that feel the need to "get loaded" or
"high" frequently. They can often get nasty under those
circumstances - especially if they are doing both (and it is
embarrassing to me - and should be for them).
I am not too big on WATCHING sports (other than NFL football, beach
volleyball, and sometimes sailing) . . I'd rather PLAY.
LIVE WELL, LAUGH OFTEN, LOVE MUCH!
and keep Austin Weird!
TO THOSE WHO HATE THE QUESTIONS: Yes some are silly, some are
stupid, and some don't show the right answer, but they are
reasonably helpful in helping others decide whether or not it is
worthwhile contacting you. People who are really serious about
meeting others will take more tests and answer at least 250
PERSONALITY TRAITS: I would say they are accurate for the most part
(mine anyway). I would disagree with worse mannered and perhaps on
the scientific and indie categories. These traits tend to become
increasingly accurate the more questions you answer (if answered
honestly). Politically I lean to the right; Socially I lean to the
left. Like SMALL dogs; allergic to cats and the persons who are
owned by them; favorite pets are large parrots / macaws /
cockatoos. I genuinely like kids that are generally well behaved
and preferably at least 13 years old (I don't have any children of
my own - missed out).
I realize that the "completeness" of my profile (and it's openness)
may turn off a number of potential dates, but for me at least, it's
quality over quantity every time (greater potential for a long-term
I am a practicing Christian (Episcopalian) but I seldom go to
formal services. The lake is my church, my sailboat is my pew, and
I get the 'sacraments' in the basin.
I began living with my primary in May of 2014 (I am poly, straight
and in an open relationship - we are looking for a 2nd female
IDEALLY as a live-in (she need not be bi) - I am an 'ethical slut')
I have been married once for 16 years (divorced 2006). I say
'mostly monogamous' because I don't want to be with just one, but
I'd like to be VERY CLOSE with 2 or 3 women. My nearest family
member lives near Houston. My primary will be working in the Austin
area until she retires (so we will be apart during the week).
WHAT IS A PRIVATEER (you ask)? - Licensed by the crown to prey on
enemy shipping. A (financial) portion of the items taken on the
high seas by me and my crew goes to the crown.
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
I am enjoying the company of friends and some of the nicest outdoor
venues in Pflugerville / Austin (and Porter / Houston)
and surrounding areas. Perhaps I will meet a female partner(s) who
will show me around in other areas.
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
Documentation, grilling, learning new software and methods,
procedure writing, rowing, sailing, teaching, volleyball.
The first things people usually notice about me
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
Smile / friendliness, eclectic.
I was given a plastic flask of "me" the other day. The label reads
as follows: Hello, I'm Fred, Aquarius. Velvety smooth and easy to
hold. I'm your daily allowance of awesome in a fully recyclable
package and I'm born in the USA. Find me, follow me, friend
I like that about me and think you will too.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Help your potential matches find common interests.
Romantic novels ("beach smut"), action movies, "chick flicks",
Sci-Fi, almost any kind of music (except: Hip Hop, Rap, or Salsa).
Especially love seafood (actually like most foods except: cabbage
(other than cole slaw), lima beans, guacamole, sour cream, cooked
spinach, and cauliflower). I have a real sweet tooth. Key Lime Pie
is my favorite dessert. My female side loves chocolate. I love
Not big on Tex-Mex or Mexican food (real chili doesn't have beans
in it). Chinese, Italian, Cajun, Sushi, are all much more
interesting to me. As to spice levels (on a scale from 1 to 5 -
with 5 as spiciest) I gravitate to 3 or 4. I still want to taste
I enjoy beer (Shiner in cooler months - Lone Star otherwise), wine

margaritas (and a few other libations on occasion).
The six things I could never do without
Think outside the box. Sometimes the little things can say a lot.
1 (the basic necessities of life) 2 Friends, 3 Family, 4 Lovers, 5
Rowing / Sailing, 6 Sunshine.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Global warming, lunch, or your next vacation… it’s all fair game.
The past (remembering the past), present (live in the), and future
(plan for the).
How short life can be and how important it is to try to live each
day like it is your last (and trying to remember how precious
friends and family are).
Why so few women mention things they like to do in their summary
profile on OKC.
How men want to see a full length picture of the OKC women but many
only show their faces (if that); and how women want to see a
close-up of men's faces (w/o hat or sunglasses) but most men just
show the full length shot in sunglasses.
On a typical Friday night I am
Netflix and takeout, or getting your party on — how do you let loose?
On my way to my campsite in Houston / Porter TX (from Austin /
